If only there were more PO'd senators who grew up loving football, they might bring a federal indictment to the Pats for their cheating incident.
Kidding, but not so much.
I hope they do actually nail Bonds, and that asterisk ball at the Hall of Fame is justified.

Barry Bonds, baseball's home run king, was indicted for perjury and obstruction of justice Thursday and could face prison instead of the Hall of Fame for telling a federal grand jury he did not knowingly use performance-enhancing drugs.
The indictment, culminating a four-year investigation into steroid use by elite athletes, charged Bonds with four counts of perjury and one of obstruction of justice. If convicted, he could be sentenced to a maximum of 30 years in prison.

what a waste of time...
after he's convicted...he should sue MLB and every owner...
seriously...he shouldn't have cheated...but what the hell is the point now? our govt is gonna waste millions because someone lied to them about taking drugs? just so we can feel better about purity in baseball...

Asterisk, my ass... If he's found guilty, I don't think he'd get voted into the Hall of Fame... While Pete Rose broke a baseball rule by gambling, he didn't break THE LAW. If Bonds is found guilty, not only did he break a federal law by lying, he also broke the baseball rules by using banned substances. It's tough enough to get in the baseball HOF without any blemishes on your resume. This would be about the biggest blemish a player could get, IMO.
