The ITV News report made it to #3 on Countdown last night. (As Keith said quite a few times in the intro to the report,"Watch this-and you're gonna wanna punch somebody.") Video, however, isn't available.

" From Thursday, the surcharge on flights lasting more than nine hours will rise by £30 to £116 for a return ticket, while the levy for sub-nine-hour long haul flights to destinations such as New York will increase by £20 to £96. The surcharge on return short-haul flights will increase by £4 to £20."

I just checked: $458 round-trip to England is the cheapest I could find this weekend. That is outrageous for non-peak. They are paying $225 in equivalent Pounds though.
