Guys, I've been building for awhile but never, ever, have I seen the deals available right now. RAM is cheap because Vista is a bust and manufacturers flooded the market with the stuff. CPUs that can run a Supercomputer are available at under $100 and motherboards are going for squat. You want a really really good CPU? Core 2's are going for under $200 and a quad core is at $225. Nvidia just put out a new vid card (8800GT) that pretty much erases their entire product line because it costs $250. Cases, power supplies etc. are at discount rates.
If you have $1000 you can have a 22" LCD monitor, super fast CPU, 2GB of very fast RAM and a 250GB hard drive all run on Windows XP and in a case that suits your taste, not a big manufacturers. Dive in boys, the water is great and you'll be very glad you did.
This won't last much longer so take advantage.
