Remember- the comet, loganberry and those delicious sugar waffles?
How about the Laff in the dark or the pristine beach?
Here's some links to help with those memories:

How can you forget the Crystal Beach Suckers?

Unfortunately I never tried one. Kind of like the suckers at the arcade dairy. Just never wanted one.

Oh so heavenly and they were perfect size, not small enough to make you feel jipped, but not so big that you get bored of it. Loaded with flavor too.

I saw my first naked girl at crystal beach. Comming off the water slide you could see into the girls changing room through a hole/slit between the roof and the wall.

I loved the beach. Good post. Thanks for the memories.

Thanks for the links. I just got some sugar waffles. Some of my best memories of growing up in Buffalo include Crystal Beach. I couldn't believe it when I heard they closed. Those were great times.

Remember when they turned the 1st 5 cars of the comet backwards? That was great. That coaster is the one that started my love for coasters.

There are so many poorly chosen words there, chucky. It sounds like SG describing Andrew Peters' wiener.

SG said he couldn't find it, the steroids must have shrunken it, he decided to go up the back door instead

I roll my eyes at SG. He's one crazy fellow, but I have to support his homosexual relationship with our "enforcer."

After thinking about it some more, I recall a ride called alladin's carpet or magic carpet or something. There were holes in the floor that blew compressed air and an electrified bench that you would always try to get some noob to sit in. Man, can you imagaine the field day lawyers would have with that electrified bench now-a-days? "Mommy, that bench hurt me!". "Don't worry son, I'll get Cellino and Barnes on my cell right now." :)

If you were going there with your girlfriend, you made sure her clothes were tight, otherwise you were hoping for a skirt/loose shorts.

Who remembers the animal garbage cans that would growl/etc at you?

How about the "chair lift" that went over the water. For some reason..it wasn't considered a ride at Kissing Bridge.

The train that went in one big circle.

How about the fear you who get when the Yellow Roller Coaster would get near the top and you would hear the boards bend....and pretty loud!!

Here's a link to a video of a refurbished "laughing Sal". Evidently these were at amusement parks around the country during the 30's and 40's. I don't remember this thing being at CB though.

I do remember the talking lion trash can and other things you guys mentioned though.

Man, I forgot all about those trashcans. It's sad to know that I will never be able to take my daughter there, and have her experience the same things I did.

i remember camping out at the Magic Castle, waiting for girls with mini-skirts to exit and those jets to blow their skirts up.

And the Comet (I'm not quite old enough to remember the Cyclone) that made you feel like you were diving right into the lake.

And the roller skaters, and the bands, and the smell of the suckers and the cotton candy, and collecting change from the riders of the Spanish Galleon, and the girls in bikinis coming off Bay Beach.

It was a place in time, and it is sorely missed.

Here's an idea: You don't like my opinions, obviously, and I don't agree with yours. How about we just ignore each other? Fighting on the Internet is a rather pointless activity, no?

Works for me. The less I see of your ugly-ass man-crush avatar the better.

But don't be so arrogant as to assume that everytime i post something it has ANYTHING to do with your having posted in the same thread. If anything the opposite is true.

I remember when I rode the Commet for the first time. My balls and chest grew some hair that day.

What was the name of the bar down the street from Crystal Beach? My friends and I went there often in the late 80's. You only had to be 19 to get in legally. I can't think of the name.

Well, Sneakers Tavern was/is located down the street on Erie Rd. Also, ya gotta give props to The Palmwood "Circus By The Sea."

Both of these are still up and running and a great time. I had a good time in both this past summer

Mike Foligno and Mike Ramsey made a commercial for the park when they switched some of the seats backwards on the Comet.

The wore equipment/uniforms on the ride and pissed their pants when their spin was over.

Does anyone remember this commercial? Man, I would LOVE to see a link of that!! That was way before youtube...heck VCRs probably weren't even around.

And liked it even more once I could legally go to the Ballet. If every Canadian parent equips their son with skates from the time they can walk....whats wrong with having daughters with Brass Poles in their room??:ladyrangers:
