Don't get me wrong, i've had a lot of fun already watching the sabres this season. But is it just me, or is there less hitting this season? I'm not saying the Sabres are doing less hitting, im saying everyone is doing less. Could just be me.

They're a softer team, no doubt about it.

Is that because Peters isn't playing.

Aside from the two Islanders games, the Sabres have looked fairly physical to me.

And, SG, do you want to meet somewhere and settle our differences? I swear to God, if I see you whine about Peters one more time, I will punch a hole through your face. Thanks.

You're right, it's not just the sabres. I've noticed it in other games around the league too. There's been a slow change in rosters. Out with the big and lumbering, in with the lean and quick.

I'd like to see them be more physical in their defensive zone. Too much stick checking - and that's just not from the D, but the backchecking forwards as well.

I think Buffalo is more Physical up front this year. The defense is pretty much the same. Maybe not hitting, but I see more traffic in front of the net.

You actually expect real hitting from a team this SOFT.

I hate the NHL for trying to continually soften the sport. High sticking, clutching and grabbing destroy the sport. Hitting and fighting attracts new fans and keeps the old ones. Come on NHL stop shooting your selves in the foot! You can't market your best players properly and you have no idea what is attractive about my favorite sport!! Hell, every person I meet in all the non-hockey markets I have lived (including the girls) all say the same thing. I love the fights!!! I would argue the big (clean) hits are just as, if not more enjoyable.

My solution; undo the instigator penalty. Total horseshit rule running the soul of hockey. Start suspending players for twenty or more games with big fines for high stick infractions, boarding and crosschecking above the chest that cause injury. Lighten up on interference calls. NOT HOLDING, or clutching, whatever you want to call it. I'm talking allowing hockey players to play hockey. Defenseman laying out a player with his head down, or a center ice hit by left winger on a flying center.
I truly believe a clean hard hitting sport where the stars have room to skate, but are held accountable to keeping their heads up is what will improve this sport

They have enough forwards (Hecht, Paille, Stafford, Gaustad, Mair) willing to go muck it up in the corners. What they need is a real nasty S.O.B., a certified assassin to put the fear of god in opposing players. Someone like Gary Roberts. I'll never forget the way he played in last year's Ottawa-Pittsburgh series. Every time he went in the corner against a Sen, I thought he was going to cripple the poor bastard. Kaleta could be that player, if he can become a bit more accomplished in the other aspects of his game.

In junior hockey that he has yet to show in the AHL,not sure how physical he is though. The hitter in minors is definitely Pat Kaleta .

You'd have to get through me after that.

Hey, ASSHAT19...I said nothing about Peters.

When you have 3 players on your team that hit...you're soft.

Time for a cool-down session, BR and SG. You two are my bros.

I'm just effing around.

The "punch a hole through your face line" is from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia."

Right now, Kaleta is more NHL ready and consistent, even when it comes to the hitting. That said....the apple doesnt fall far from the tree.
