I like picking the upsets. I just really hate the Flyers so I always pick against them and the sens do have a real chance.
The two best series are the Kings vs. Avs. Kings have a great and are well coached and the Avs are the defending champs it went 7 last year I see this one being real good.
Leafs vs. Isles will be great Peca is a great playoff performer and if Cujo stumbles the Isles could upset the Leafs. Although I think the Leafs have a great team this year and if Cujo plays like Cujo they should go to the cup.
My Stanley Cup Prediction Red Wings will win it I really have no clue who will come out of the east.

i don't think the red wings will win it at all. honestly player i really think the canucks can knock them out, have you sen them play lately. they are on fire so much confidence. i bet them to win tonight!

Bduff, you are right with the Canucks, they are on fire and have won 9 of thier last 10 games. Bertuzzi is on fire (he helped me win a pool this year). The one thing Vancouver has against them is thier depth. The wings are tired and old but have alot of playoff experience, another thing that Van lacks.
The Coyotes could also be an upset in the West. Best series may be Blues and Hawks.
East I like NJ. Also Philly, with Lindros, gone there is no one to demorallize the team. It would be fitting that the Flyers win the cup as a slap in the face for Lindros. It happened when he didn't want to play for Quebec and Col won a couple of years later.
Player...Don Cherry is not an idiot. He has forgotten more about hockey then we know.

I've seen the Canucks play I had both Naslind and Bertuzzi in my pool. Their very good, but Detroit is the class of the league this year.

hasek will show his age and naslund and bertuzzi will punish him dearly. i say canucks in seven, i love the underdog.

Everyone says the Canucks have a chance but the Red Wings have four lines that can score, a solid defense corps and oh yeah Dominik Hasek who when he steps up his game he can carry a team on his own like he did the Sabres when the were a no-goal away from forcing the 7th game in the Stanley Cup Finals.
Vancouver has two solid lines and has the hottest two players in Bertuzzi and Naslund. Ohlund and Jovanovski are stars and Sopel looks real good. This Canucks team would upset any team in the league except for the Wings.
April 17th, 2002, 11:38:52 AM
Hasek is ice cold and the rest of the team is either hurt or out of gas due to old legs. Vancouver in 6.

sorry littlboy, as you can see it says OT which means off topic. there are plenty of people here who care. it is interesting and Don cherry knows more about hockey than we will ever know
April 17th, 2002, 12:01:27 PM
I would kill to see Don Cherry in a hockey free-for-all with Tony Kornheiser and the other guy (can't remember his name right now).
That would be a three-way Donny Brook!

Player, check your pms.. got a hockey question for ya.

Nobody's ever controlled Sundin before?? I think you better switch to non-alcoholic beer, how about in '99. I seem to remember Buffalo winning in 6 and Sundin being pushed around like a little old lady.

April 17th, 2002, 12:35:39 PM

In duffs defense, when the Devils have been punishing the Leafs the in past playoffs, Sundin has been the lone bright spot.
I like Bill Clement for hockey talk. Don't hear Don Cherry down here but I remember he was always loud and annoying but also always right.

satellite hot stove suck so bad, trust me about 2% of canadians even watch it
northernbillfan
April 17th, 2002, 3:13:10 PM
What is this Satellite hot stove you are talking about...never heard of it... LOL.
Grapes is usually spot on.
In the east I think the best series will be Isle and Leafs. And you cant deny the oldtime hockey feel with the Bruins and Habs. Bduff I hope you dont get too upset but unless Cujo gets to 100%, your leafs will be in for shock.
This the greatest time of the year for a hockey fan:thumb:
April 17th, 2002, 3:35:40 PM
Duff, I like the hot stove.. a lot, actually.
Earthquake: LMAO at your Al Stachan comment!
I've even heard Jon Davidson say, "Aw, come on, Al. Gimme a break." And he was seriously bummed at Strachan right on the air!
April 17th, 2002, 3:39:27 PM
BTW, Northern,
the hotstove is during the second intermission. It's hosted by Ron MacLean and features Jon Davidson, Al Strachan and a writer for the Calgary Herald (or whatever it's called) but usually the fourth spot is rotated.

Yeah that's terrible although he was seriously worried after he learned about the damage.. he will only be out for 6 weeks.. so that gives him the summer to recover! He'll be ok.. he said it's feeling much better now anyway...

I know that rude, I was being sarcastic! I usually watch the Oilers on HNIC, but I listen to the play by play on the radio. There is no better voice of hockey than Rod Philips, with classic sayings like..."Thats a whole can of whoppa$$ Laraque just opened"
But I hardly ever watch the Hotstove. Coaches corner is great and the post game on ice show is good too, just dont care for the Hotstove.
April 18th, 2002, 11:45:49 AM
Oh. my bad then. :D
Rod Philips is the play-by-play man for the Oilers? On the radio?

Don Cherry for prime minister.

I like the hawks chances of taking out the overrated blues
I like Toronto ( thought I'd never utter thoase words) but they are due. Anyone like any underdogs??? I think LA may drop the Avs, but who knows with the return of Forsberg and Hejduk almost ready.
Yes Rude, Rod Philips is the radio guy for the oilers. The best hockey announcers are always on radio. He has been calling Oiler games for more than 20 yrs.
GO TORONTO GO...I have Sundin in a draft.:toast:
