I got 5 seconds into the first video and already wanted to punch Chris Wallace in the face. I can see why Clinton snapped on him :D

*continues to watch the rest of the video*

Huckabee appeared well rehearsed and articulate. To be honest I think he'd have a legit shot at the nomination if he didn't have such a redneck surname.

I wonder what he feels has to happen for us to have "honor". Huckabee basically said we dishonor our soldiers and every soldier ever to serve our country if we were to leave Iraq now. bullshit.

Well honor does mean something. Nobody would ever say honor is a bad thing.

Hypothetical situation:

Lets say the majority of world is mad at your country, that includes 50-60% of the people in your own country. You are occupying a country you just crushed and is now on the brink of a bloody civil war.

You can leave to placate the world and your citizens... at the expense of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives. At the end, a new dictator has to emerge to stabilize the country. The US goes down in history smelling like roses and the Iraqi civil war ends up on as a two paragraph sidebar in a textbook.

Or, you can admit the whole war was a piece of shit. Recognizing that, you help the country become a safe environment for its people and hopefully, have a free state emerge from the ashes.

It is a compelling argument, perhaps a bit too idealistic... but in the end everybody is voting for ideals.

Huckabee using George Jones example sounded pretty lame. You thing he stayed up all night trying to think of that one?

A big tragedy of the Republican preliminaries is Tom Tancredo's utter inability to speak. He seems like he might have some decent ideas, if not for the fact that he just can't communicate them. I am surprised he survived even a regional election as such is the case.

No. He comes off as a rational and realistic man.

Not like some bi-sexual actor or anything like that.

HE rants and raves but offers no substantive answers.

He's offered answers in just about every debate and every meeting that he's had.

That's BS sukie.

His answer is pack up and leave. That simple. Just leave.

And you know what? He's right. And he's right that the war is going to drag your party down in flames next year, with or without Fred. Of course you are going to deny it, Jlb will, and Uppy will laugh.

But six months before 06' I said the Republicans will suffer an election of disasterous proportions, would lose both houses, and governerships.

And I was dead right. And it wasn't a guess either sukie. The polls 6 months out showed you guys dead.

The polls right now show the disintegration of the Republican Party in 08'. Yeah I know the same bull shit answer "It's still a year away..Polls mean nothing".

Well, let me ask you this. 70% of Americans HATE this war, and the number climbs every month. They also link the war to the Republicans, and they are now tending towards a democratic landslide of post-Nixonian proportions. What pray tell, is going to change that trend in the next year???? Especially when war hatred is INCREASING, not decreasing? Fred will landslide the Republican nomination probably, only to get beat badly in the general.

Say hello to your government healthcare.

Thanks, thanks a lot.

But don't worry Gore is getting in and will save us all. (IMHO)

I know that but as long as we are talking about the future why not really stretch our imaginations to the extreme?

So if

Huckabee is very smooth and articulate. Ron Paul I thought was pretty strident. That's to say nothing about content. Huckabee's illustration was pretty catchy, but it begs the question, can Iraq be compared to an item of broken merchandise in a store? I think the answer to the question "stay or come home?" has a lot to do with the Iraqis themselves and whether or not they show they have the will and desire to fix things and have US forces help them. So far the answer seems to be, "not really."

JLB Paul will drop out soon.

ok possible and so will many others.

viable Rep's include: Fred, Rudy, Mitt and John.

the rest should consider packing it up.

viable Dem's include: Hillary, Barack, John and Al.(:dunno:)

the rest should consider packing it up.

Ron Paul is a bit of an internet phenomenon, but much like Charles Norris, midget pornography and indie music, he is probably doomed to stay that way.

I like him but he sometimes comes off as an crazy uncle Harry.

He's very passionate and sincere but in a debate he would draw laughter much more than he would praise.

It's not just the Republicans that would elect him.

He would need Democrats and Independents.

I like some of his ideas.

Eliminate the IRS especially.

But he also wants to eliminate the CIA, FBI and The Dept. of Education.

Nobody is going to seriously consider him with all that.

He is a libertarian. This is what real libertarians are supposed to think, in theory, not just "leave me alone".

Scary, I know.

He is very passionate and he does draw laughter but its from some of the arrogant conservatives in the media and other candidates who dont even know what a conservative really is, they actually think Bush is one.

If it came down to Paul vs Hilary, Paul wins hands down. Conservatives would come out in large numbers to vote against hilary, Paul has and will continue to pull in tons of independents and democrats and even people who have never voted before in their life.

He wants to eliminate wasteful and clumsy bureaucracies. The Dept of education is a joke, education doesnt need to be centralized and no child left behind is about as bad as it gets.

He realizes that government is at its best when it governs the least. All the other candidates are all the same. Big Government politicians who just want the power and think we are to stupid to make our own decisions. The media continues to ignore him yet he continues to pick up more and more steam. The only shot at not having a democrat in office is Ron Paul. Then maybe people like me will finally have representation.
