I got the game today, a day early, and am blown away by it. The gameplay is outstanding, and so are the graphics and animations. I also love the pre-game player intros. Buy this game; it's so much better than last year's.

Do you know if you can create-a-player as good as you want? Last years version SUCKED in create-a-player mode because you had to do those impossible workouts.

How did you get a hold of it early like this?

I actually ordered it on eBay Saturday, and it was somehow shipped to me today. No clue how, but it's great.

I'm terrible so far, but it's still a really good game.

I read all the reviews. if you are going to buy it buy it for the 360. Wii was rated second best and PS3 the worst[yes it is running at 30fps].Go to www.ign.com to read the reviews. They are usually a reliable site for reviews. You can also try www.gamerankings.com they compile all the gaming sites that review the game. I think I'm going to buy mine for the 360 and not my Wii.

How's the frame rate on the PS3?.. I know they said that the PS3 frame rate is about half of what the Xbox 360 is.. is it really bad or no? I don't have a PS3 but i want one.. and i thought about getting an xbox360 but with all the problems people have.. I don't wanna get into that. Look at how many people are selling their 3 rings of death Xbox on ebay.. its amazing.

I've had my 360 for over a year and never had a problem. If you do buy a 360 they have a new 3 year warranty so you don't have to worry about it. Plus they just dropped all the 360's prices by $50 last week and the new models will have HDMI ports. I would wait another year to buy the PS3 they don't have any good titles out and won't for a long time. Plus I seen on G4tv that developers are getting upset at the PS3 because they are having problems making games for it so a lot of games are getting delayed because of it. It is even effecting 360 titles that those companies are making. For the PS3 fanboys that read this no I don't hate the PS3. I was the same way with the 360 when it came out. The only gaming system company that I buy from when it first launches is Nintendo because they never have any technical problems. Hell I still have my NES from 85.

Yeah thats great.. they give you 3 years but in all honesty if i buy a system i don't want to have to worry that i may have to send it away for 2 or 3 weeks until i can get it.. and if that one is broken.. then there goes another 2 or 3 weeks. Microsoft rushed the 360 to beat the PS3 but of course rushing things tend to end up in disaster. Sure they made more money by getting it out there but look at all the crap they are going through with all the systems. Both systems have their good and bad.

As for the ratings.. alot of places give madden 08 the same rating for each system. However the only one that really went against that is IGN. They say the graphics take a bad hit because of the frame rate and that its not as smooth. Thats why I'm curious to see what C19 has to say about it.. on if its that bad. Maybe C19 could try madden on Xbox360 and let us know what he thinks of both.

Carl J. Ironsides

The frame rate is what it is, 30 fps. I've learned to accept it. It's all I know at this point, since I've never played 360, so it doesn't bother me.

Austin 34
August 14th, 2007, 10:17:06 AM
The reason is because The PS3 is harder in making a game for with the software. Xbox 360 is easier to use so thats why. Xbox is more smooth because for EA it was easier to make the game for them then the PS3 was. I think given time things will get smooth and expect next years madden should be just as good as xbox360 next year.

This is my 1st year with a 360 (I was a PS! and 2 guy before), and it's defenatly a different Madden then what I'm used to. I can't wait to get the gameplay down on the 360 cause the presentation is fantanstic. Even without Madden and Michaels calling the game.

Am I a bad person for upping JP Losman to a 94 overall? So what, I made arm-strength similar to Cutler's, accuracy barely above mid-80's, awareness similar to Roethlisberger (and less than Eli "I'm Still Somehow Living Off My Last Name" Manning), and speed rating a little higher than Brady Quinn.

So that all added up to 94. I couldn't help it. I had to make things right, I didn't realize that JP Losman was as good as Madden says he is with correct ratings.

And oh yeah, this year's version is far superior to last year's version. I did the midnight run last night, played till 4 am, then woke up again at 9 am to continue playing.

Anyone done enough franchise mode yet to get the gist of scouting players? I get that you will have better info on players if you scout them...but for the best results are you supposed to pick out certain players you like and scout them all season, or keep changing constantly so you scout as many players as you can?

And one more thing...I'm intrigued with the prospects of being able to do Superstar mode as a real rookie. Mostly because I still haven't been able to do those damn drills well enough to create a player even close to worthwhile.

I had some fun playing the game on my 360 today. The game play is a lot better than last year, it seems more crisp. Nice to see them bring back the edit player stuff also. I think it is pretty good, I would rate it great if they would make the sideline players look and act semi-normal, and if they could finally get the throwback jerseys right. Those two thing always annoy me, but maybe next year since they got all the other stuff fixed for this year. Can't wait for NHL 08.

I think they always release NCAA first, make it suck a little so that when Madden comes out it seems better.

They know everyone is gonna buy NCAA because it comes out a month before and people have been waiting forever for a game anyway.

But the presentation, the menus, the play selection...its all pretty much the same.

I think 82 still makes them the worst team in franchise mode. The reason for the ratings jump during franchise is so the playing field is leveled. That's why New England goes from 97 to 90.

On another note, I'm beginning to hate this game. It'd be nice if Marshawn Lynch would advance past the line of scrimmage. Last game: eight carries, minus-4 yards. Awesome.

I bought the PS2 version of madden 08 and the bills are rated 83. 83 in a quick game and 83 playing online. Its alot like last year with a few wrinkles here and there but I'm happy. I find it funny that some places are rating the PS2 madden the same as Madden for the Xbox360 and PS3 lol. I've played a few games online and its decent. I had 162 yards rushing with Lynch in one game.. he's awesome lol.

I love Madden 08 for 360, it is the best Madden since 2005 IMO. I love running the ball with Lynch to the left side with Peters and Dockery. I played online against my buddy, he was the Texans and I won in OT on a INT TD return by Poz while the Texans were in scoring position.

I think the reason the PS3 has 30 FPS is because the PS3 is relatively new, not even a year old. Hell, it took EA 2 years to get Madden for 360 right.

I enjoy simming more too...I tend to play maybe 1-2 games a season...

I'm currently simming season 2, where the only changes I've made are the 2008 draft (where I picked a RG rated 81 and a WR who doesn't drop a pass), and traded kiwaukee thomas, a 2009 2nd rounder, and a 2009 4th rounder for Patrick Willis then lining him up at ROLB.

Well, I also made JP, Marshawn, Evans, Whitner, Peters, and Dockery a little better than the Madden ratings suggested originally, so that may have helped. (JP a lot better, the rest just a couple OVR points better.)

Oh, and anyway, the rest of the season 2 story is that I'm going into my late season game against the Pats tied for first with them at 9-4. I'll be playing out that game.

yea idk how u guys are complaining about Marshawn....ive been playin on All-pro, the scores for the most part stay pretty close...Lee Evans is good for 100+ recieving yds and a td a game, Marshawn USUALLY gets about125+ rush yds a game and a rush td or rec td. and Losman goes for about 16-21 280 and 2-3 tds a game! From what I've read, most people are just dropping his stats to rock bottom, then cutting him, so no team would want him. Of course, if you get the next online update, I'm pretty sure it won't have Vick in it and you won't have to worry. The first update already had him dropped to 3rd on Atlanta's depth chart.

I am trying superstar mode with marshawn...very frustrating. they call every running play to the right side of the line when our best linemen are the other way...and JP stinks in this game.

So what is the best way to get Vick deleted from the roster? I don't want to just cut him, because then some other team will pick him up and he'll be awesome for them in franchise.

hell i'd still use him. It's only a game.

jp continues to sabotage my superstar season...he has thrown at least 7 INTs in the endzone when we are about to score...he has twice as many INTs as TDs very ....very irritating since i have almost no controll over it.

I just got myself a 360 along with Madden. Played 2 games online and the one i was winning decided to give me an unreadable disc error and counted as a disco. The 360 version definitely is better than the PC version. I just hope the unreadable disc doesn't mean i will be getting the RRoD soon. I might have to pack everything back up and go exchange it.

Is there a way you can get an update without XBOX 360 live?

The fumbling makes this game unplayable. I'm getting at least 4 fumbles a game. I bumped ronnie browns carry rating to 99 to help the ridiculousness, but he STILL fumbles all the goddamn time. im done with this POS until they fix this bug.

Ronnie Brown through 5 franchise games, 14 fumbles.

try protecting the ball when a bunch of guys are getting ready to hit you...you probably won't fumble

im not sure if it's actually the way the game is(concerning fumbles) or if its the change in gameplay.

its very easy to fumble in this yrs game but there are ways to reduce the chances.

obviously protect the ball at all times if possible(rb - 360).

when a defender is diving at you(particularly your feet) use the hurdle(Y - 360). but be careful w/ gang tackling this yr you could cough the ball up if another defender comes in to tackle you high.

if you use a power back hit up on the right analog stick to flatten defenders if they try to tackle you high.

that's a few things ive noticed so far this yr. just be ready to use that rb button at all times....it does help.

I got mine yesterday and obviously started my franchise. Went through TC and played a couple of preseason games. Trent Edwards you ask ?? torn shoulder out for 11 weeks just after I had released Craig Nall, had to go get him back from the FA pool.

Won both games. Beat the Saints in a very close game and routed the lowly Falcons. No fumbles for me so far. Only one by Lynch which Roscoe promptly picked up :D

Oh and Terrence McGee is blazing fast

Roster update No. 2 out for 360.

Accounted for most of the cuts, but Fred Jackson still isn't in the game.
However Brad Butler's ratings are way higher and he is the starting RG. The only other big change was the Schobel extension.
