Unofficially, listed after the Paetsch signing at $45.086 mil. Add Peters at $500k (for some reason, it's still TBA on the site, but I believe that's right), and the actual unofficial total should be $45.586 mil.
That leaves us $4.714 mil under the NHL cap for next season if the figures are correct.

Barring a trade, this is the roster Buffalo goes in with. Nobody else is coming here.

Spacek out, Peatsch in, Sekera up = extra 2 mil for a rental at the deadline.

Who's going to take Spacek at his salary?
At least Kalinin's isn't that high. Teams would be more likely to take him, and that's not really saying much.

I know, it sucks. Though didn't Tampa give up a 2nd rounder for Gratton? Maybe if he could put together a good stretch of 5 or 10 games a team needing Dmen and having lots of cap space would take a shot.

I'd rather have Kalinin then Spacek ... I haven't given up hope on him yet.

Me too! Kalinin is affordable and can give you 25+ minutes a game if needed. His game misses Zhitnik but he'll rebound with the right partner.

bottom line we need to do something, because at best i say we have a decent defensive core. lydman and tallinder both give up the puck too much in our own zone, and the rest of our defense isnt incredibly strong. so i dont know why darcy thinks we have one of the best defenses in the league, i remember him saying that during that press conference. his job should be to let things play out and if our defense isnt cutting it, do something, or call up TJ Brennan, lol.
