Spasuck, Connolly and a first for Marleau?

No. What don't you people get that SJ needs to dump salary if they do that all they do is take on more

Why would they give a no-trade clause to someone they're only paying $1.8 million?

Because he wanted one? Prolly to make sure he stays where he wanted to be.

Why don't we just throw in Stafford, Sekera, and Zagrapan for the hell of it??

Yeah, maybe, but it isn't like Grier is one of those irreplacible types. He's valuable, but not irreplacible. I just don't see why San Jose would even bother? Why tie your hands if he's not an all-star?

Well--I guess all of you are having an impact....yesterday Ick...I mean Ek-lund was talking about trades San Jose, Buffalo ...etc ( Tonto as well I believe....)
Also Canada.ca first reported Marleau and salary dump on June 30 according to my google news search....
Anywho...intersting that it made so little sense that Ick...I mean Ek-lund responded to a non rumor....
Keep moving an shakin boys ...and girls....

Well, I thought the whole marleau talk was just an unrealistic, NHL 08-esque trade that would never happen.

Then again, if eklund says it's "not even being discussed", it wouldn't surprise me at all if Marleau ends up wearing the blue and gold.

Well maybe Marleau is just not the guy we want. It wouldn't surprise me if Darcy made some kind of trade before training camp starts for a roster player. I'm still betting that arbitration will force someone to walk away or trade a player that we might be interested in. Its possible that nothing like that happens this year and we go into camp exactly as we are right now, but I do believe that Darcy will at least be paying attention to arbitration even though all our players are signed.

If Darcy Regier won't bring peca or mckee back because they botrh wanted to leave buffalo, why would he bring in marleau? wouldn't it be cheaper anyways just to sign peca and deal off kotalik?

This trade isn't happenening.

I fail to see the connection between Marleau, Peca and McKee. Marleau is a much better player than Peca; the two really aren't at all comparable at this juncture. And neither are McKee and Marleau, considering they don't even play the same position.

they gave Grier a no trade clause? Wow. He is marginal at best.

I hate no trade clauses anyway
