And it was...
Surprisingly, really good.
The new episodes had been hit or miss over the last seven years (usually miss), so I expected the movie to be more of the same. Especially after I saw a few trailers for the movie, which were all pretty weak.
So I braced myself for inevitable disappointment - understanding the years 1992 thru 1999 were long gone and the show itself far past its prime.
But one guy made it good again.
Matt Groening had the good sense to lure back John Swartzwelder as a writer. If you're not familiar with Swartswelder, I recommend you look him up. He's by far the most prolific writer the Simpsons ever had.
The movie had the same feeling as a mid-1990's episode.
