Directv... Sunday Ticket

They are basically the same but only Directv has the Sunday Ticket.

Also if you have High Def Tv, Directv will have reportedly over 100 HDTV channels this fall.

I actually have both.

DirecTV for me because of Sunday Ticket, and all the other sports' "tickets."

Dish for my wife because it has German TV (her motherland).

So, I guess if you are from Germany, Dish is the way to go. Otherwise, DirecTV for sure. :D And yes, they just launched a new satellite in order to add more channels soon

I just switched to Directv in May after getting fed up with Time Warner. I love the service. I didn't get it so much for Sunday Ticket, because as a season ticket holder I would be paying over 300 bucks a year for essentially half a season, but the option is there if I ever decide to get it. The main reason I got Directv was the deal I got through Verizon for it. For 89.42 a month, I get a HD DVR, including service, their sports pak, and all the movie channels they carry, along with their HD service, which while lacking channels now, won't in a month when they start rolling out their new HD channels. Also on August 30th, Directv is adding the Big Ten Network, which is going to be sweet if you follow any of the Big Ten teams. From what I know there is nothing wrong with Dish Network, they just offer different things.

I just got Directv last week and if you have an HD TV go with them. I was talking to the Directv on the phone and they told me by the end of 08 pretty much every channel that is on now will be in HD. She said Directv will be releasing a certain amount of channels ever month up until end of 08 when they are all released. Directv also is the exclusive carrier of NFL Sunday Ticket and Superfan. The only thing good with cable which I kept when I switched was the Roadrunner online service from Time Warner.

Another cool thing is Directv offers sports packages, like for me living in Texas I can get the MSG network for example.

You can get MSG in Texas, too, with Dish. Why would you want it, though? All the games on MSG will be blacked out.

I don't understand? What do you mean for hockey? Hockey games would get blacked out on there, too. Unless, you're a Rangers fan and want to see some coverage about them, but it's not like MSG does a lot of coverage on hockey.

I like Directv. I just hated time warner but did keep the RR. The reason above are accurate though.

Direct TV has an awesome offer right now. I just signed up this week. Was a long time Dish member.

I have had Dish, and now have Directv. The only thing I liked about Dish that I apparently won't get with Direct is for NHL Center Ice, Dish had 2 feeds for almost every game. That allowed me to watch RJ a lot more and also let me watch the other team's coverage if I wanted to. Besides that, I'd take direct because of NFL Sunday Ticket and the future HD channels.
