Once again Sabres management has let this team down and we've lost crucial players due to incompetence and/or delay tactics from the front office.
And I'm not just pointing the finger at Regier, either...as of a couple weeks ago, he was still waiting to receive his own contract, so I imagine he wasn't doing very much negotiating with the team's free agents.
I just don't understand why it took so long for any offers to be made. Briere didn't hear anything until 3 days before the FA deadline...who knows when Drury received his first offer.
What was the point of waiting so damn long to re-sign Regier and Ruff? ...or to even make initial offers to any of our RFAs or UFAs?
This team has experienced 2 very successful seasons...ticket and merchandise sales have never been higher...the fan base is at an all-time high...and upper management STILL found a way to screw things up.
Very disappointing.
