View Full Version : Former Sabre Gratton traded back to Tampa Bay

So Chris Gratton got traded back to the Lightning, again, this time for a 2nd round pick in either this years draft or next years draft; which begs the question: Why only a 4th rounder from Vancouver for Taylor Pyatt last season? His potential upside and age alone should have garnished more of a return. Especially now, seeing what a team would trade for Chris Gratton.

If somebody was offering a 2nd for Pyatt, i'm sure Regier wouldn't have turned it down. That Pyatt only brought a 4th in return kind of signals to me that there was basically no interest. But a 2nd for Gratton? I really don't see how the Tampa GM could possibly justify that.

Gratton's just a prettier man, even considering Pyatt's eyeliner.

For sure he would have taken a 2nd round pick had it been there. Which is why I made the thread, really....I think this is mind boggling.

I disagree. Pyatt buries Gratton in the looks department.

Gratton is a big time underachieving loser and the Tampa Bay GM must be crazy.

I am sure that Gratton always has a packed suitcase in his closet...

Things work out strangely sometimes. I really cannot believe that Mika Noronen is not in the NHL right now, and may never be. Everytime Jeff Jillson played for us i thought he looked pretty good and had good potential: i think he played 30 games this year somewhere in Germany. And Rory Fitzpatrick? Probably the worst defensman i have ever seen plane the game played 56 games for the Sabs last year, was on the ice for the two most crucial goals possibly of this decade for the team, and almost made the allstar game this year. Gratton got a 2nd rounder in return? Who the hell knows.

What a purse Gratton is for his size.

Look at the bigger picture folks. Tampa Preparing to dump some salary. The bigger question is who is going? Vinny, St Louis, or Richards.

I remember being at game 4 of the quarterfinals vs the Cryers in 98.
Seats right behind the Cryers bench and Heckling Gratton all game.
Gratton gets bent out of shape and yells shit back at me a couple times.
I messed with his brain!
Sabres won 4-1 and Mike Wilson "Fought" Lindros.
Twas a one sided affair but HSBC was loud as hell with the LINDROS SUCKS!!!! chant.

Gratton is a serviceable 3rd line center who is worth no more than Adam Mair, but still gets paid $1.5 million. He's decent, but he's never been as good as he was supposed to be. He's not worth $1.5 million, he's a $750k player to me. He would bring the size the Sabres lack, but being a guy that wasn't popular in our locker room I'm glad he's not here anymore, especially since we turned him into Briere, lol. Now if we can take Sarich back the rape of Tampa Bay will be complete.

Jesus Christ. No wonder he flipped his lid.

Anybody called my old lady a dyke, I'd go ****in' bananas.

His wife is a dyke.

- Jesus Christ. Poor ****in' guy. - Does that make him a fag?

**** him. Hanrahan's an ape. I knew it would piss the shit out of him.

She's a fantastic gal. I mean, fantastic!

You nailed him, Coach, in the ****ing head.

- Right in his mind.

St. Louis, he's the oldest and still has some pretty good value. If I were a GM I'd much rather keep Vinny and Brad

Wow. So next season, when Philly has Vanek and LeCavalier, Kimmo Timmonen, and everyone else that every "sports writer" is claiming their going to sign, they'll be 20 million over the cap and they'll have a real All-Star line up!
