View Full Version : Elmira Jackels to become Sabres ECHL affiliate?

The Elmira Jackels unvailed a new logo logo the other day, which is cool but not newsworthy in Buffalo. But if you look at the new jersey design it is the same as the Sabres with the Elmira colors and logo, even complete with the number on the front. I would guess that a team would not use the Sabres design unless they were going affiiated with the Sabres. I would guess that the Sabres would not let it happen unless something was going to happen.

Someone on HFBoards(where I also hang out)noted that it's possible the Jackals liked the design and decided to copy it.

That said...a decision on who will affiliate with the Jackals is said to be coming down soon.

Would be nice to have some extra space if we are going to continue to cohabitate with the Panthers in Rochester.

I love going to Jackals games.

I haven't been in a few years since I left Elmira to go to college, but they always seemed to win when I went, it was great.

It would only make it better if they became affiliates of the Sabres!

Isn't the entire NHL moving to a similar jersey design next year? When do we get to see the new jerseys for next year?

pretty sweet jerseys, the only flaw is that wolves pin their ears back when they're pissed off / threatened.

True.

But another poster on here,who's MUCH closer to the situation than I am,has noted that Ottawa is also in the running. They have no ECHL affil,but putting it in Elmira would make as much sense for them as it would for us...seeing as their AHL affil is just down I-86...ERRRR,Route 17 in Binghamton.

In any case,it's a win-win for Elmira no matter who they affiliate with.

Well from hearing the new coach (Stevie "STICKCHECK" Martin), it doesn't look like the Elmira Jackals will land an affiliate this year. Kind of dissapointing...I really had my hopes on a buffalo/rochester/elmira affiliation. PS I really like the jerseys and im def. going to buy one if our store ever gets them in (Seem to run a little slow on the merchandise front).
