Shawn Michaels underwent surgery this afternoon on his knee. He will have a no-weight bearing on his knee for a month or two. Then he will begin rehab and will be expected to return late this summer.

Nine days ago on RAW, he landed awkwardly at ringside during a commercial break. He had a tremendous amount of pain that week and tried to wrestle over the weekend at a house show. He then knew that he needed to have the surgery to fix the damage to his cartilage.

.....Man these guys are dropping like flies out there.

This is what you get when you have wrestlers doing 4 shows a week, every week of the year, with very little time off. If you gave wrestlers 2-3 months off at a time(obviously, not all at once-you'd have to rotate that among the roster),that would give them time to fully heal and recharge and would,in the end,be better for the business.

That is why Piper has been calling for a wrestler's union for years now, but everyone knows that the first guy to sign with a union would be blackballed from every major wrestling company for the rest of his life.

Sad to say,but you're right. If Newbie Wrestler signs with a union, that's the end of his career.

Conversely,if a locker room vet....say,The Undertaker....spoke up about it and pushed for it behind the scenes,he could face the scenario you mentioned-or parts of it could become reality.

Depends on how much time you have put into the business.

I don't think your right about an established guy. I think he too would be given the boot. No promoter would want a guy who stirs up that kind of "trouble". And if Vince was willing to fire Kurt Angle, he would fire anyone.
