This guy is not impartial when you get fired by CBS it says a lot.

CBS News has claimed that it fired Gen. John Batiste because he was engaging in “advocacy” that might hurt the credibility of his “analytical approach.” CBS has not expressed a similar level of concern with its other consultants, particularly former Bush aide Nicolle Wallace.

ThinkProgress has confirmed that Wallace serves as an informal advisor to the McCain campaign. As early as August 2006, the National Journal reported that Wallace was affiliated with the McCain campaign:

Nicolle Wallace, who oversaw communications for Bush in the campaign and at the White House, will help McCain.

The Washington Post’s Peter Baker also noted that she was aiding the McCain campaign.

CBS does not appear to have been concerned that Wallace’s advocacy for McCain would impact her on-air analysis. But on at least two occasions — after the media reported she was affiliated with the campaign — Wallace appeared on CBS programming to boost John McCain:

When asked what standards Batiste violated, Genelius said he participated in “advocacy,” but noted that she had not seen the ad to verify the charge. Batiste’s only “advocacy” in the ad might be found in this statement: “Mr. President, you have placed our nation in peril. Our only hope is that Congress will act now to protect our fighting men and women.” Watch the ad:

While CBS claims it will not tolerate consultants engaging in outside advocacy, it apparently has no problem paying a former White House communications director to engage in the Bush administration’s advocacy on air. While being billed as CBS News’ “political consultant,” Nicolle Wallace has propagated talking points advanced by her old colleagues in the White House communications office. Some examples:

“The Democrats have to walk a fine line and be careful. People don’t want to turn on the TV and see every story being about the obstruction of people trying to do things.” [Washington Post, 3/7/07]

“Well, you know, people ask me all the time, ‘Do they [in the White House] get it? Do they get how bad things are?’ And the answer is yes.” [CBS Evening News, 12/12/06]

At the end of the day, no matter how discontent some voters are, they really don’t want to see Democrats in control of the Congress. [CBS Evening News, 10/23/06]

CBS News’ Vice President for Standards and Special Projects, Linda Mason, told CBSNews.com’s Public Eye: "When we hire someone as a consultant, we want them to share their expertise with our viewers. By putting himself front and center in an anti-Bush ad, the viewer might have the feeling everything he says is anti-Bush. And that doesn’t seem like an analytical approach to the issues we want to discuss.”

It is a logical fallacy to hold that one cannot both criticize President Bush and be impartial at the same time.

Of course not that would be foolish.
But if you want to hold a source up it should easier to find an impartial person that hasn't campaigned against the party in question.
Get a soldier that once supported him would be far more credible.
Chris Mattews is not reporting with impartial accuracy.
He's a political operative and will always be one.

Seriously, this should not surprise anyone they sacked Rather for sticking to his guns. They brought in Couric to dumb down the news into a nightly factoid abortion that has only about 9.5 minutes of actual news and their corporate masters came out and said "Bush is good for business" Read my lips the media is not right or left it is corporate. I have not watched the news on that chanel since Katie killed the evening news.

No they are corporate. Four corporate conglomerates own the about 90% of the media in this country. They are interested in making money and will support the people currently in power to make money. They are not liberal or conservative, but corporate. Furthermore it will be quite sad if the neocons are able to complete their hijacking of PBS as it will be the hijacking of the last moderate news source in America. It is also sad what some conglomerate cable companies are doing to C-Span. Let me explain they are replace C-Span on standard tier with home shopping and moron networks as its almost like they don't want the people to keep a close eye on their government via an unfiltered source. Oh yeah and Bloomberg's buyout of the WSJ (Wall Street Journal) is shameful and should not be allowed because the WSJ is actually one of the most liberal publications in the USA. Seriously it is.
