I know we are all on a high right now but did anyone else observe how poorly Lydman played the last two games? Freakin horrible! Pucks bouncing over his stick at the blue line. Not taking the body enough, scary passes and giveaways. A few bad penalties. I know he had a great season and he just played against Jager’s line every night with our best D-man in Henrik Tallinder, but holy crap! One more performance like that and we might have to give him a one game benching to wake him up. Once again, I state I know he is a solid D-man. I like him and want him on this team, but I’m calling it like I see it and the last two games he sucked..

I didn't think he really stuck out as bad last Friday, but Sunday was an unmitigated disaster. It was probably Lydman's worst game as a Sabre. That said, he'll be fine. You don't sit a guy from your top defensive pairing on the bench. As Pierre McGuire says, Tallinder and Lydman are an elite and under-appreciated shutdown tandem.

Bad ice will cause pucks to jump over sticks. Lydman wasn't the only one who had issues.
