Which QB draft class do you think will ultimately be judged as having the better careers when all is said and done......2006 or 2007?

Vince Young QB TEXAS 1 3(3) Tennessee

Tarvaris Jackson QB ALABAMA STATE 2 32(64) Minnesota
Charlie Whitehurst QB CLEMSON 3 17(81) San Diego
Brodie Croyle QB ALABAMA 3 21(85) Kansas City
Ingle Martin QB FURMAN 5 15(148) Green Bay
Omar Jacobs QB BOWLING GREEN 5 32(164) Pittsburgh
Reggie McNeal QB TEXAS A&M 6 24(193) Cincinnati
Bruce Gradkowski QB TOLEDO 6 25(194) Tampa Bay

At first glance, I'd have to say '06, number one reason being I believe Young and Leinart will both have better careers than anyone in '07.
As for which one will produce more starters, here's my list of guys who I think could end up being the #1 guy for the team that drafted them before the end of the 2010 season (I think that's a decent landmark year...picked it because beyond that year the guys who haven't taken the starting jobs on the team that drafted them will begin their movements around the league):
2006: Young, Leinart, Cutler, Clemens, Jackson, Croyle, Gradkowski
2007: Russell, Quinn, Beck, Stanton, Kolb, Smith
Only one more on the 2006 list...so...
I guess I'd say in terms of just how many of them will have careers in pure numbers of players, its very close...
But I'm going to stick with 2006, because they are ahead in terms of how many I think will be impact QBs at this level.

Trying to get Bills fans to say that we think the Dolphins 2nd round QB will amount to something?

Isaiah Stanback QB WASHINGTON 4 4(103) Dallas
He wont stay at QB.
06 will have more star power at the top but 07 will be deeper

Matt Moore should be on the 07 list. Hes a better QB than Kellen Clemens. I still dont know how Clemens was drafted in the 2nd and M.Moore goes undrafted

I'd have to say 06, but you're right, 07 can come up and bite us in the ass. I think with the emergence of Young and Cutler, and now Leinart being surrounded with more talent and finally a LT that can protect him, he will be up there as well.

it isn't even going to be close the 06 class by far and for one simple reason
cutler, leinart, and young are going to produce at least 2 real starters whereas russell and quinn? there is a chance that neither succeeds.
I'm going to go ahead and discount any picked outside the first round as stats show that qbs picked out of the first round rarely ever have an impact.

I like the 2006 class. Young, Leinart, and Cutler looked like they could turn into something special. Jackson and Clemens could be, but I'd guess that at least one of them won't pan out.
2007 the jury is still out. I don't like Quinn. I'm sure between Beck, Edwards, Stanton, Troy Smith, and Kolb a solid starter will emerge. But I don't think all 5 will hit. Jamarcus should be dirty.
From 2006, I think Young, Leinart, and Cutler will all be Pro Bowlers at some point (Young already has) and will all lead their teams to several playoff appearances.
In 2007, I only see Jamarcus being a stud.

I dont agree with that article. You are comparing 1 round to 6 rounds so you are naturally going to have a bigger failure rate for rounds 2-7. The article is also not taking into account what the QB's are drafted for in rounds 4-7. Some of those guys are drafted for other posistions. A lot of teams are just taking flyers on thoughs QB's hoping they will be a solid back up and not a starter. There is also a sliding scale of talent and that QB's more than any other posistion will be drafted higher than they should be. I bet the results are almost the same for every posistion out there. I think it should be first day vs 2nd day QB's

maybe a comparison of 1st to second round qb's would be interesting, not to mention what the numbers would be to be considered successful
if he took his players from the nfl draft site it does take into account guys drafted who played qb in college and switched positions. for instance antwan randle el and hines ward are not on the nfl list for qb's but are on the list for wide outs.

Young, Leinart and Cutler are all keepers from 06'.
Jamarcus has bust written all over him because of where he is. I would have said the same thing about Brady but he is in the perfect enviroment to succeed.
I like Kolb, Beck, Edwards, and Smith from 07'.

I totally agree with that assessment.

I like all of them except for Smith. He was completely overwhelmed by the speed of Florida's defense - and he'll see that speed every week in the NFL. I don't think he has the size or style to overcome that.
Not sure Beck will ever get a shot in the NFL due to his age and the fact that Trent Green will ultimately wind up there.

No you don't.
It's no different than making a prediction on who is going to win the SB each year.
You see the players, the situations they are in, the talent they have, and the talent around them.
So, just say which group of guys you think will be judged as having better careers collectively when it's all said and done.
It's called a prediction.

Nope... That would be a lost cause... lol
Though my logic also would apply to Edwards... which is a positive for you...

Green wont be a starter for longer than a year. Green is already 37. Beck will get a shot in '08. Who knows, he may even crack the line up towards the end of the season...

Had the Louisville qb come out the 2007 class may have been close but without him 2006 blows them away.
