CAIRO, Egypt (AP) -- Some of the militants arrested in a terror sweep in Saudi Arabia trained to use civilian aircraft in suicide missions, an official said Saturday, detailing a plot that reflected the September 11 attacks on the United States.
Mansour al-Turki, the Interior Ministry spokesman, said the group of 172 Islamic extremists "are carriers of al Qaeda ideology, working on achieving al Qaeda goals, which is to take over the society."

So let's say these militant groups keep on planning the attacks on Saudi Arabia... What happens when the oil production is suddenly dropped to 1mill a say from 7 barrels? 25 dollar pump prices and economic collapse accross europe and here?

All the more reason to leave Iraq NOW!!! (sarcasm)

Mansour Al-Turki Promoted as Lt. General

JEDDAH, 5 May 2005 — Interior Ministry spokesman Brig. Gen. Mansour Al-Turki has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general, press reports said yesterday.

Brig. Gen. Al-Turki has become a well-known face in the media after his constant interaction with journalists covering security matters, especially the Kingdom’s successful campaign against terrorists linked to the Al-Qaeda network.

Brig. Gen. Al-Turki, who is also director of the Haj affairs department in the directorate of public security, has held different posts in public security. He was appointed spokesman of the Interior Ministry for security affairs last year. The general thanked Interior Minister Prince Naif for promoting him to the new rank.



BTW, the Saudi ambassador to the US is also an al-Turki.

Great post sir. Oil runs the world. It would be damn shame is the radical islamists (aka **** faces) screwed everything up. We should leave Iraq and the Middle East right now--no military whatsoever--lol.
