Man... he needs to be careful. Pissing off the Refs could come back to bite'em. :niterider

We all know Lindy is passionate, but save it for when you need to motivate the team or there is someting to gain. There was really nothing to be gained in that instance. Maybe send a message to the ref, like Woody said the refs would probably get pissed in that instance. I'm not saying LR was wrong, he could have just expressed himself in a different way?

those were some pretty blatent missed calls and i don't blame lindy for being mad at the refs. I really was suprised rick and jim didn't catch it because they are usually good eyeing out missed calls.
I still can not understand the officiating in this league. Last game was so tightly called and this games the refs put away the whistles. Something truly needs to be done to establish some sort of continuity for officiating.

The game was definitely poorly called there at the end, but he needs to keep his cool in those situations. Especially when your team just won. Keep your cool and tell the refs what you saw...
The refs aren't Lindy's children, and I'm sure they did not take kindly to being yelled at like that at the end of the game on "national" TV.
I mean, he didn't just get upset. He threw a ****ing toddler-esque tantrum. I was waiting for him to throw the bench on the ice.

Well then maybe they shouldn't be in the league if they can't take the heat for a bad call. Or even better they shouldn't be in the league because they're too busy blowing each other to call penalties.

I thought Ruff was pissed about that cross-checking call against Briere at the 2 minute mark.

"Ruff faces a potential fine from the NHL for the outburst.
We'd hate to see what he'd be like if the Sabres had lost."
Hilarious.
And at the same time, no-calls like those are what can turn an entire series around. He has every right to yell and scream and make an issue out of them. If the Rangers score on that blatent offside play and then win it in overtime, how would you handle it? Everything will be reviewed and his outburst will be justified, just not condoned.

the coach of the year would have to go a lot farther than that for the refs to start biasing calls against him
you can tell the refs like him because of the way they treated him during his meltdown. they started out listening intently then became sheepish as ruff got angrier. one of them even grabbed his pointing hand to help him try to keep his cool. you dont do that to somebody you dont like and respect
lindy knew exactly what he was doing

Ok, so these were the bums that were accepted to ref the playoffs??? Each game has had its moments of ineptitude so what are you suppose to do accept it? Hell no! Tell them you expect more from them, I mean there are four of those assclowns on the ice.Can any of you guys clearly see whats happening?? God bless Lindy he wears his friggin heart on his sleeve. I'd rather have his passion and emotion running this club, I know its genuine, he only has the Sabres best interest at heart.I'd skate through a brick wall for that guy!!!

Go get them Lindy. Now I hope Golisano steps up and covers the fine.
With two refs and two linesmen, why can't the game get called better (for both sides)? Mr. Bettman.... you listening?

totally understandable for him to freak out. 10 seconds left in the game, last shoot in, the guy is 2 feet offside, linesman has his hand up, play continues, linesman puts his hand down. **** THAT!!!!

Rico...I'd second that!! and maybe third and fourth that too. When Lindy Ruff walks away from the game, he will be remembered as one of the greatest coaches in hockey. In my book, he is already better than Bowman. Scotty was good, but jumped around to teams that were already built, Lindy has his fingerprints up and down this roster. He has put his blood, sweat and tears into building (on ice, no offense to Darcy) what we all are enjoying now. For my money he is the best coach in hockey, and their is no close second. He again made the exact right move, at the exact right time putting Stafford out with TV and Roy. Then goes up to the podium after the game and say's, like he always does " Sometimes you get lucky". Their was no luck in that Lindy, that was a great coach making the right move at the right time FOR THE TEAM.

The games was called inconsistantly. I don't care if they call everything or don't call anything, as long as it is the same all the way though the game. There were a couple of questionable calls, and then some gross omissions. If the Refs were to call it one way for the entire game, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

The guys is the best coach in the league and has the hardware to show it. I think he knows what he is doing.

I thought the Briere crosscheck was one of the more questionable calls of the night. I don't mind if you're going to call them, but be consistent!

Take the fine - Lindy's not stupid. The Rangers cannot beat Buffalo 5 on 5. Its their PP that becomes their biggest threat. If Buffalo remains disciplined and the refs call the frustration penalities at MSG, its over.

Ruff has the right to be pissed. When the officials look back on the last 3-5 minutes of this game there are going to be glaring non-calls that are not "interpretation" calls:
Avery punching Briere in the head on the faceoff - ?
Too Many Men for the Rangers in the last minute
Offsides on the final Rangers Rush
I'm OK with the Briere penalty if the above 3 are called. But how can you call the Briere crosscheck when you don't call Avery's antic on the faceoff?

i would also like to add WHAT THE ******* was that bullshit that shanahan pulled thinking the puck was a curling stone and gliding it out of the zone.
He must have had his hand closed on the puck for 5 sec. That was to me by far was the most ridiculous missed call of the game.

it was a bit silly and embarassing for him but we are all emotional at time, all coaches have their moments. it was great to watch though.

bduff, I am sure it was neither silly or was embarrassing for Lindy. It is serious, the officiating has been a train wreck and there is a lot at stake in these games.Lindy has his reasons for the tirade and to think he was anything but looking after his teams best interests is crazy. If ya gotta rattle the cage so be it but don't go away silent!

I think Lindy went a bit overboard. Bad calls, fine let the refs know about it, but you don't have to scream at them.
