9 goals scored total in 3 games
5 goals scored by defensemen
4 goals scored by offensive players
It is always nice to have the defense be productive, BUT when they are scoring more goals than the offense is not a good sign at all.
Where is the offense?????

Where were you after Game 2, when the forwards scored just two total goals? After they netted three tonight, it's hardly the appropriate time to file a complaint. They righted the offensive ship this evening.
P.S.
Your stat isn't even correct. The forwards have five, the defensemen four. You have it the other way around.

personally i think its a garbage stat. who cares who gets the goals, instead of connolly shooting it in game 1 he just passed it over to the d-man for the easy goal

Like I said it's nice when the defense helps in scoring but when they are at half the goals total scored in 3 games it is concering.

The only thing that concerns me is our backchecking and our ability to clear the puck out of our end. We look awful weak in those areas IMHO, and it hurts us a lot. And its something thats been going on for awhile, I just dont get what Ruff's not able to communicate to these guys. Definitely an area with room for immense improvement.

The main point is the offense should be outproducing our defensive guys. It may not concern anyone else but it concerns me alot.
The Sabres have a explosive offense and they need to show up one of the games. The 4-1 victory was good but not what we are all used to seeing these guys play.

It's funny. I used to complain about the special teams, but they've scored PP goals in two of the three games, and they came really close in Game 2, and they've been good on the PK (no shots tonight for the Isles).
Now, I'm worried about defensive coverage and faceoffs. When this team puts it all together, they will be as ferocious as the beginning of the season. I hope they finally play with all cylinders on Game 4.
Pax.

Forget about seeing the Sabres constantly put up 5 or 6 goals a night. In the playoffs that simply isn't going to happen. The important thing is that we are up 2-1 in the series. If we win 4 games a series, I don't care if Conklin comes off the bench and scores all our goals.

I can agree with you here. It is inexcusable to give up a goal with 8 seconds left in a period to let the Isles back into it. Thankfully, tonight the Sabres played a great third period and didn't let the Isles sniff the tying goal.
