.....conklin played like a freakin rookie today, not getting down on his knees, keeping his legs wide open on that last goal, it is very scary to think about how screwed we would be if ryan miller got hurt.

Wish they could have been sharper.
But the main thing was to come away from this game clean and ready to go!!

Most teams would probably be screwed without their No. 1 goalie, save for possibly Anaheim, San Jose, Minnesota and Nashville. Who cares.

You can't blame him, he hardly saw the ice down the stretch run.

I didn't like a couple of the goals he let in today. But he's a goaltender who is capable of getting hot, just like Biron is capable of getting hot. The biggest difference is Biron has never played 1 minute of playoff hockey while Conklin has. Either one could be backing up Miller at this point and there wouldn't be much of a difference in result.

Miller hadn't played a minute of playoff hockey last year and was fine. I don't buy that argument. Biron would still be a better option as a backup.
Still, that trade had to be made. Hopefully, Miller stays healthy and we won't have to worry about it.

He may not have played well but he did have way too many times standing with his legs wide open. It caused 2 goals.

I didn't think of that. Good point.

There's a reason Biron has never played a minute of playoff hockey. He was a #1 goaltender for 3 years. Miller took his job and the Sabres have been playoff bound ever since.
Biron is your run of the mill, middle of the pack, average goaltender, who can get hot. But not for long enough to tie down a #1 job.
That said, would he have stepped in and been able to backstop the Sabres to the Cup? I don't know. But I also don't know that Conklin may or may not be able to it as well. Will you explain why you're so positive that Biron would be a better option?

I've seen both play, and I think Biron is a better goaltender than Conklin. Maybe, it's preference, maybe it's homerism, I don't know. I just think he's better. I still hold that Biron was one fo the main reasons that the Sabres climbed back into playoff contention the last season before the lockout, but I don't want to open that door again.
Like I said before, I think Biron is better than Conklin (as do most if not all GM's in the league), but that trade needed to be made so it's kind of a moot point.

Well it just means that if a player so much as nudges Miller, that player gets beat down gangland style to make an example of them. No one near the net. That also goes for Dmitri "Own Goal" Kalinin.
