Probably cause during his time in Buffalo he was treated pretty much like Bill Hajt.When he left here and went to Jersey
he helped them win a Cup,so even Smehlik got a Cup yet the Sabres still wait.

That is pretty dumb, Bill Hajt was fantastic, Smehlik was mediocre.

Bill Hajt was not treated well as a Sabre defenseman early in his career he came to be respected later in his career.It was not dumb it was a comparison.

Guess what, Smehlik wasn't even dressed when the Devils won the Cup, so consider that. He was on the roster and dressed for the Cup celebration photo after the game, along with 1 or 2 other guys who happend to be scratched. They got a few turns with the Cup, and that's it. So Smehlik didn't in a Cup while Buffalo still still waits. He just got to hold it.
