1. Go here http://www.nliteos.com/download.html and download this software

2. Download this http://udp.xable.net/get.php?file=XUpdatePack_v2.0.7.7z

3. Open up nLite and you'll be at the welcome screen.

4. Put WindowsXP CD in your PC.

5. Point nLite folder to the CD drive containing your XP CD

6. Skip the presets screen

7. Select hotfixes and updates

8. Select create iso disk

8. Use the insert button to import the file you downloaded in step 2.

9. The program will start processing.

10. Processing complete!!!

11. Burn the iso using a burning program like Nero. Don't choose to create a data CD, you want to choose burn an image.

* You could also select the option to create an unattended setup file where you can enter your license key. This way any time you use this XP disk, you won't have to enter the stupid key code.

You are all done. That's all there is to create a bootable WindowsXP disk that includes most of the Windows updates. This saves me a ton of time because I format alot of computers here at work, and sitting and waiting for 70 updates to download and install drives me nuts.

One question with the self-installer setup, if I use the "academic" release of XP Pro with the FCKGW-*****-*****-*****-***** key do I have to use that blocked key or can I mod it prior with a keyfinder?

Sure, just select the unattended setup and put in whatever key you want. It's beautiful!!

Tried that - it actually mirrored the windows key from my machine. If you use for system builds it also records your IP address under the network adapter. The advantages to me are that now XP is slipstreamed and much more updated and you can still "magic jellybean" each system, then create a customized re-install disc per box - very nice. Thanks again!!!

Have you slipstreamed IE 7 yet and if so how?
