Indeed. Personally, I think the Lightning would be the Sabres' easiest opponent in Round 1. Sure, they have Lecavalier and St. Louis. But that doesn't make up for Marc Denis in net; at best, that series would go to five games.

i agree, the sabres would hammer the lightning. 4 or 5 games easy.

The Lightning are my ideal 1st round playoff opponent too. It'd be one of the more entertaining sweeps you'll ever see.

a slightly tougher first rd series will do the sabres some good,because if we get tamp everyone gonna think its going to be easy when in for tough run of ups and downs so lets play someteam whe have to outwork to win .

The Islanders would be a tougher series than Tampa, but not that much tougher. That the Isles lack in scoring punch in comparison they makeup for in the net. Dipietro is head and shoulders above Denis, but that isn't hard to do. The Isles have better balance, Tampa has no defense and that is where we exploit them. The Isles defense is good offensively and mediocre defensively, but good enough for most teams. With Dipietro behind them they can get away with the bad giveaways. A series with Tampa goes no more than 5 games in our favor, the Isles could take it 6, but just the same way Philly took us 6 games.

I'd love to play Tampa... we can take them pretty easily in my opinion... now its between Pitt and NJ to see who would could potentially get in the 2nd round. If its Ott/Pitt, I think we play Ottawa and have a great series on hand. If its Ott/NJ, we'll play NJ and have another good series... I'm kinda weary about playing NJ in the playoffs, but it can be done. Be positive, thats my motto.
