...“If we want to be the big, bad team we think we are, we’re going to have to show a little more effort, that’s for sure — early in games, at least,” Miller said. “We know we have the capability to score, but we got to start playing complete hockey”...

I like it. He's growing up and becoming a leader. Everything he said is 100% true.

A leader is born right on Mr. Miller.

I could not have said it any better. Glad to finally see a player saying something about their lack luster performances.

Nice Job Ryan! Couldn't have said it better.

I think it takes some balls to say that because it can go either way with the fans, media, and even the team. His comments could be seen as being a complete jerk or worse, but instead because of his persona, everyone knows his true intentions. I commend him for speaking out. If you look at him when another team scores a goal after our defense gives it away or the defense leaves a guy all alone, Miller has a bit of a disgusted look on his face...sort of like he is really pissed but doesn't want to upset chemistry by yelling at his defense. I feel bad for him....the team defense has been on a downward spiral since the first drop of the puck in October. I hope they realize that they have to be a hell of a lot better (not just THE defense, but the forwards playing defense too).

Nicely done Ryan... finallly someone says something when things are going bad... and he did it without calling out his horrible defensemen... but we all knew what he meant

Well said, lets see if he acts upon and becomes a brick wall during the playoffs, like he was last year.

good for him, he has been left out to dry the last 2 games.

Miller is completely right, a few OTHER people need to start stepping it up now! We need to start keeping the puck out of the crease for a change!

It's not only good that Miller said this, but it's also the way he said it. He used the word "we", keeping with the team idea.

Ruff's criticisms will hopefully wake the boys up. I'm curious to see how they play against New Jersey and a desperate Islanders squad later this week.

I absolutely love it. That sounds like something Derek Jeter or Tom Brady would say. There's one more reason for me to believe this is our year: These guys will rally around Miller, and he'll thrive when it matters.

Glad Miller said something. Can't just let the team coast. Gotta step up and be a leader.

We'll see how it goes over. As if it needed to be said, Wednesday's game v. Jersey is huge.

Miller showed me more with that statement then half the dead beats that took the ice last night going through the motions, glad to see his fire burns hotter than most.It was appalling to see everyone on this goalies case when he was just average but who attacks the rest of the Sabres when they lay a collective egg? Yeah it is kinda quiet so I am glad that Miller raised hell and pointed out the obvious. Now lets see if this team can take their game and their performances to a new level and quit wasting games in a lackluster haze.Go into the playoffs thinking you can just turn it on and we will be first round victims of the worst kind.We are not Ottawa so lets stop acting like Ottawa of old, thinking we can just show up and win. This kind of mentality will get this team killed. They are in unfamiliar territory as favorites and so far they need to improve their approach to game preperation. The time for hanging is long gone its time to go to work mentally as well as physically!!!

Rico, I agree 10000%. I hope Lindy kick's these guys right where it hurt's. They have 7 games left and counting to wake up. Oh, and guess what, it is going to be alot harder, not easier trying to plug a bunch of guys back into the lineup who have not played in weeks, where the skating is off, the passing is horrid, and the team defense is non existant. Yet, you are called a whiner or a pessimist if you point it out. I know this may be our one and only shot for some time to come. With the salary cap every year will be different. I just don't want to see our opportunity slip away do to a lack of effort.

P.S. If the team works hard and loses, that is acceptable. I could not have been more proud of them last year in the playoffs. Hopefully lindy can get that magic back before game one.

Agreed. With this much talent, if they work at 100%, they win most nights.

No critique of his own play, I see... curiously absent.
