If I were Novotny I would find a way to get that ankle healed quickly. Before getting injured he was demoted to the 4th line. On top of that Stafford and Ryan are playing with a whole lot more passion than we were seeing out of Jiri. He needs to play a little hurt and show that these guys from Rochester don't deserve to jump ahead of him on the depth chart. He's one guy that should be scared for his job right now.

Personally, if I had to choose between Stafford or Novotny, um... bye-bye Jiri.

Me too. Novotny just wasn't nearly as likable as Stafford has become. Drewwwwww mania is beginning to take place. He deserves the roster spot.

I'd like to add Kotalik to that list as well.

Do you honestly think he would have rushed to Drury aid the way Stafford did? Hell no. This guy just watched Vanek get cross checked in the back against CBJ.

If I were Darcy, I would shop this guy hard. Tell him he's fine. Because while this guy has some skills, the young from Rochester showed me more heart in 2 games than he did in 2 years.

Soldier,

I understand what you're saying about Kotalik, but I've sort of changed my mind on him. Before, I definitely wanted him traded. But he plays a physical game often and stepped up in the playoffs last year. We kind of need Al, in my opinion.

Well, like I mentioned before, the one silver lining about all this is that it wipes out any complacency we all thought was plaguing the Sabres last month. Now everyone has to man up, not just to give a big F U to the rest of the league, but also to fight for playing time in the playoffs and for next year.

Pax.
