Pete: Welcome To Listen Up!
Glad to be here, my good man. The Buffalorange is a godsend for displaced Buffalonians and assorted Buffalo fans.
Pete: How did you find the Range? What's your experiences being here?
I lurked for years and years – at the message boards, I always liked to read the Bills rumor threads. And, of course, a daily check of the Billsinsider is a must for any out of town Bills fan.
I started posting (in PRS) when the Social Security bamboozle started. I distinctly remember you calling me a “chump”. It was so on after that.
Pete: Honestly. If you had to go with your gut instincts today, how do you think that the Bills will fare this year? Why?
I’m the biggest “homer” you have ever met. No joke, I honestly believe we will go 16-0 and win the Super Bowl every year.
Pete: How did you get the title "King", my King?
I don’t remember. I think moonie did it to bust my chops about being a mod… now the poptarts have latched hold like pit bulls, though. :D
It is a FACT that I am glorious and majestic like a King, though. I have other Kingly attributes, as well… but they are not appropriate for a family message board.
Pete: And your 1st round draft pick in April for this Bills is? Why?
There’s a couple of guys I would pick regardless of need: Adrian Peterson comes to mind… of course, he won't be there…
Leon Hall would be my pick if Clements is gone. We need more Michigan guys. Get rid of the OSU guy and replace him with a Michigan guy… now THAT is a good strategy in every walk of life.
Otherwise, get an offensive tackle (Levi Brown perhaps?) and if Pennington whoops him in training camp, move the rookie inside.
BTW, I’m totally talking out my ass. I know nothing about college prospects. :D I just read the war room and steal merk, admarc and coastal’s ideas.
Pete: Are you worried about the Bills being sold and then moved? I mean Ralph is 90. He's defying the statisticians? What would you do to keep the Bills in Buffalo?
I’m not too worried about it. I trust that Ralph will do the right thing – if for no other reason than to solidify his legacy. I know people have their complaints about his willingness to spend on free agents and other things, but, IMO, he’s a stand-up guy who really cares about Buffalo.
Although if that move ever happened, the NFL would not get one cent from me – EVER.
As for my plan to keep the Bills in Buffalo, I have invested heavily in powerball tickets. I’ll come through! :D
Pete: Consider this scenario. You have captured your arch-rival sukie and have him hog tied in the shed out back. In your possession are: a paper clip, a case of beer, and a can of silly string. How would you convert him to your way of thinking?
First, I would use the silly string to clog up his nose so he has to keep his mouth open. Then I would find a big, fat, sweaty, “illegal immigrant” homeless man to squat 3 inches over sukie’s face. For the coup de grace, I would pour beer through the crack in the homeless man’s ass into sukie’s mouth.
I’m confident that would do the trick.
Pete: The thoughts on our center Melvin Fowler are pretty mixed. What do you think?
I’m mixed on it. :D
I have a deep respect for the center position. Kent Hull is my all-time favorite Bill and the only non-Bill I have rooted for was Mike Webster.
But honestly, after Trey Teague, who was the worst center I have ever seen – my standards were lowered to “anybody other than turnstile Teague”. What kind of professional lineman get pushed into the backfield 5 times a game? Trey Teague was a ****ing disgrace to his uniform and the city of Buffalo (not to mention the fans that had to suffer his ineptitude), but I digress…
I don’t think Fowler is all that bad. I was approaching satisfaction with the offensive line as the year concluded. They pass protected pretty well after the bye week and, as for the running game, I think McGahee makes the line look worse than it is. If he would hit the hole like a man – he would have 150 yards and 2 touchdowns per game, IMO.
Pete: Who is the hottest woman on the planet? Pics please.
o my goodness – it’s not even close. Scarlett Johansson is by far the hottest woman on the planet. But I assume you mean I have to pick someone else, seeing that she is currently my girlfriend? :D

Pete: I hate George Bush. But for different reasons than you. Why do you hate him?
Wow. This could be a long “listen up”, eh? :D
It boils down to this – he is a supremely petty man. The man occupying the most powerful office in the world behaves like a spoiled four years old girl.
Other than that, it angers me to no end that American men and women have to die for his lies. He has American blood on his hands – and a seat in hell waiting for him.
Pete: Will the Sabres make the Stanley Cup? If so will they win it? Explain.
I have to go with the “reverse mojo” – so that’s a big, fat NO. The Sabres will not win the cup.
But if the Sabres win the cup, I have a standing bet to run naked up Delaware from Chippewa to Allen St.... and nothing would make me happier than running naked up Delaware from Chippewa to Allen St.
The one FACT of the matter is that Lindy Ruff is the best coach I have ever had the pleasure of rooting for. The man can break any team down in 7 games. That, alone, is putting us in this. You add in Drury and Miller – a glue guy who’s the ultimate winner and a heckuva pressure goalie – the sky’s the limit.
IMO, only injuries can stop the Sabres (or the refs not calling any obstruction penalties) –if we had McKee last year, we would have pummeled the ******* canes and stomped a mudhole in edmonton’s chest. So I think we need another defenseman. I’m not confident that all 6 guys (especially Kalinin/Spacek) will stay healthy throughout the playoffs.
Pete: We have a ton of cap money. How would you spend it?
Spend it on fat guys who didn’t play for Ohio State. It’s a FACT that we need more Michigan guys on the Bills – it’s the only way to make the playoffs.
Other than that – bring in a linebacker to replace Fletch. Maybe move Crowell inside and get someone like Lance Briggs. I’m not sure TKO is back to normal either, so splash some cash on linebacker depth, as well.
We need a guard. Dielman would be my choice, but Steinbach will suffice (although Gil points out correctly that Steinbach is looking for a starting spot at tackle).
Depth at DT is needed, as well. “Tiny” Tim Anderson sucks (OSU again – I’m telling you, the OSU players have been holding us down since Wade Philips was here). Replace his sorry ass. On a side note – why don’t defensive tackles play directly against the offensive tackles? Soy confusado. :dunno:
Pete: What would you do about the Tight End position on the team? Do you think that we are OK there?
I’m alright with Robert Royal – mostly because his voice when they announce the starters over the radio makes me laugh my ass off.
Pete: The Losman question. As sure as the sun will rise this question is asked. So. What do you think?
I have to admit – I’m a huge Losmaniac. I wanted to draft him and I believe he’s the real deal. I have no stats or film to back that up, just a gut instinct.
Pete: Would you resign Nate and/or Fletch? Why or why not?
I’m a big fan of the “glue guys”, so it pains me to post this but I wouldn’t resign Fletch. He’s too old and too small to man the middle if this defense is going to be great. He is a heckuva player, though. It would be tough to lose him.
As for Nate, I can’t shake the feeling he was playing for a contract this year. Plus I can’t see overpaying anyone on that defense. I could see if we were 2nd in the league, or something. Then we should overpay him and keep the defense together. And I still can’t forgive him for not knocking the ****ing ball down against the jags in 2005.
The “cover-2” is not designed to spend money on the cornerbacks, anyways. It would be a mistake to overpay a position
Pete: Any final thoughts or questions?
GO BILLS next year!
GO SABRES this year!
And bring the troops home from Iraq now!
