Al-Qaida linked to Iran bomb
February 14, 2007 12:00am
A GROUP Iran has previously said was linked to al-Qaida claimed responsibility for bombing a bus and killing 18 people today in the country's south-east.
"A few minutes ago, a group called Jundollah, under the leadership of Abdolmalek Rigi, the eastern rebels in the country . . . took responsibility for this terrorist act," Fars News Agency reported.
The bus was owned by the Revolutionary Guards and the attack occurred in an area where security forces and armed groups often clash, Fars News Agency said.
The bomb was hidden in a car and exploded as the bus, belonging to a unit that transports employees of the Guards, passed by, IRNA reported. It was not clear if those killed were members of the Guards.
"In this act 18 Zahedan citizens have been martyred. Rebels and those who create insecurity martyred these people in a terrorist act by laying a trap close to a bus," Qassim Rezai, a military commander, was quoted as saying by IRNA.
Iran's student news agency ISNA said 17 to 18 people had been killed and injured in the incident that happened at about 6.30am (2pm AEDT). The semi-official Fars News Agency cited eight dead, the same number cited by IRNA in its initial report...

don't you see it, Al Qaeda attacked Iran only because Al Qaeda is allied with Iran. Strange friendship that is. :D

pesky jews, smart little monkey glad someone's been paying attention to the truth. Those Jews, at least they were gracious enough to publish reports of what they were going to do in Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Best evidence ever, and its indisputable. No, hey wait a minute thats completely backwards never mind. :D

brillant move/stroke of luck for Iran. Now in response to any US claim of involvement in Iraq, they can just say they are prtecting their interests by fighting terrorists.

 If you were any kind of man, you'd realize that a united sunni/shiite front against the Al Qaeda threat is the only thing that can defeat terror in the Middle East. But we both know our involvemnt has nothing to do with Al Qaeda or defeating terror.

I think it was a inside job by Ahmadinejad Co. So Him and his oil buddys
can get their hands on Iraq's oil after the demos make the US cut and run.

I don't think this is a first. I had to look for this news in another country. Usually, the insurgents are referred to as drug dealers because they are selling drugs to support their efforts. Just like the Northern Alliance during the Taliban and now the Taliban during the Northern Alliance.
I think the only thing that changed is that someone has declared responsibility publicly.

Good article in one of the papers I read today about the large baby boomer coming thru in Iran and they do not want anything to do with the idiots that run the country and they were saying they would need something like a invasion to bring them on side with the goverment, so maybe Iran does has something to do with it.

I think three US Air Craft carriers in the Persian Gulf may just spur the
brewing counter Revolution inside Iran...the baby boomers know the US
has power in the gulf....I wonder How many Special Forces teams and CIA
people we have in Iran ?

The worst thing to do is invade iran, let it sit for a couple of more years and the people themselves will fix the problem.
