My how the tables have turned so far this season between these two teams.

It seemed inevitable that the Sabres were going to beat OTT last season when it became known that the two teams would face off in the Playoffs. This season, things have seemed exactly the opposite up until this point.

The Senators have been off for three days now and were basically waiting in Buffalo for the Sabres to return to faceoff tonight. The Sabres on the other hand played a long, classic battle with another nemesis last night. Although it was an exhilarating Overtime win, and the team seems to be finally approaching a completely healthy lineup...

Ottawa still scares the poop out of me. Don't know why, but I only feel that way when we play OTT, Montreal & Toronto. Maybe its the inter division rivalry, maybe its short distance between the locations...

I just feel a little bit more edgy the days I know our boys will be matching up against those canucks from up north.

I'm not going too far out on a limb or anything, but I think with all the Connolly Buzz and the return of Spacek (which gives us the first 100% healthy starting lineup in god knows how long...) we will come out on top tonight. I just got that good ol' feeling i used to get earlier in the season when we hung in there last night and pwn'd it in Overtime. You can almost sense it in the way they're speaking to the media and even in the way they are playing now... They know they're boy TimMMAy is on his way home...

Thoughts & Prairs... (my best Tony Danza impression... ; )
GO SABS GO!!! SPANK THOSE TURDS!!!

Second of back to back, with travel, and the overtime. I would expect a slow start for the Sabs. Hopefully they can keep it close early and pull it off in the 3rd.

I'd hardly say it was inevitable that Buffalo would beat Ottawa in last year's playoffs. It was a David and Goliath-like series. When Ottawa kept taking the lead on us in Game 1, I thought we were completely screwed, to be honest. It, of course, didn't turn out that way.

Ottawa is the second team I worry about in the East behind Jersey, but they aren't that great, as their 30-21-3 record indicates. Buffalo will win tonight, and the Sabres - if they play the Sens - will knock Ottawa down yet again in the postseason.

Case closed.

You know what I expect? I expect these guys for once this season to put the damn excuses away and come out and work their arse's off.Don't tell me the stars aren't aligned,or a black cat crossed your path or a hottie was at your house this morning.Put away all the excuses for one day and come out and work like your teammates depend on you. Then we will have our happy ending!

we've always played bad against Ottawa. even after resting a week or coming of a big win streak, they always seem to cream us. we need to start playing better agaisnt them or come playoff time, were toast.

tonight is most definitely the night to prove they can stand up to these guys and beat them. they know this, Lindy is making sure of that.

i'm very comfortable with our boys in Big & Huge games.

this is one of those games.

I agree with connolly's post, i think we can pull out a win tonight, i think last nights win has rejuvenated the team, plus spacek back will help.

I'm not saying they aren't capable of winning, but this was a wicked tough stretch this week. Jersey to Atlanta vs Ottawa. THey are going to need a big game from the goalie (Biron?)

hold on..the tables have have turned? How so? Ottawa beat us how many times in a row last season? Come playoff time and late in the season last year we started to beat them. In fact the first time we beat them was in early Febuary last season.

You know the sabres will be succesful if they just commit their own forwards in their own end to pick up the ottawa fwds and not leave them wide open for uncontested shots. This has been a bothersome problem of late.

Indeed. It actually happened right around early February. I remember distinctly us winning in a shootout. It was Thomas Vanek's "Around the World" move beating Dom Hasek for a 2-1 win.

I was very nervous about this game and still am. Emery seems to have turned into a pretty good goalie so far this year.
