Dammit man. I'm like "No, NY just played in Detroit and we're playing ATL tonight, what the hell is papa talking about?" .... "Rangers"..... yikes.

I could call us the Buffal Orangers to avoid confusion in the future.

The "O'Rangers" might fit with the significant Irish portion of South Buffalo.....

IT WAS AWESOME... I hope you heard on TV that everytime they chanted LETS GO THRASHERS... we were responding LETS GO BUFFALO... I would guess that it was 60% Thrasher 40% Sabres fans. One local bar bought a huge part of section 209 and were providing transport to and back to the bar post game for Sabres fans. Exciting game from beginning to end.

So are we going to read another blog about "drunk and classless Buffalo fans" again?

I agree, I was there too along with 1000s of other Sabres fans. The Lets Go Buffalo echo was great to experience. There were a lot of Sabres hats, Jerseys and shirts. There were some Buffalo Bills stuff there too. I wore my UB Bulls hat and my new Sabres sweatshirt. Someone came up to me all excited about the fact I had a UB hat on. I ran into a lot of Buffalonians. It was so funny to see how excited we all were to see each other. There is definitely something special about Buffalo and being from there. You never stop being a fan of Buffalo teams.

Yea I had to watch the game on Yahoo Sports who had the Thrasher announcers. Even they were complimenting the scores of Sabres fans there.

The same thing happens to me when I travel south to visit my son and grandchildren in South Carolina.

Great post. It is so true! I've been in Texas 5 years now and I still wouldn't consider rooting for another team. I am a Sabres & Bills fan through and through. I don't care how much I get teased down here--I still wear my 'stuff' to the games. Buffalo is such a great place to grow up -- it never leaves your heart if you are from there. I'm moving back in April and I cannot wait! Woo hoo!

The cheers of "Let's Go Buffalo" were loud enough for me to clearly hear it on the TV coverage (I had the Thrashers feed). It was AWESOME! My b/f said to me "what are there like hundreds or thousands of rich Buffalo fans that just travel around to different arenas? This is like the fourth or fifth road game where I heard the fans make noticeable noise." lol (And he's a Philly fan!) He's right -- there have been a number of games where it was clear that there were tons of Sabres fans there. I'm as proud as a peacock when I hear all the support on the road. Good job all you out-of-towners!

SlowPoke--you are right, the Atlanta announcers were repeatedly praising the Buffalo faithful and said several times throughout the broadcast that the Sabres fans were large in numbers. I hope they behaved this time too, BF19!

Papa--we need details! Pony up with the interesting stuff! :)

jlb--maybe the next time you go down to SC, the Sabres will have a Cup! {crosses fingers and toes}

Thanks for these updates -- I love 'em! GO SABRES~!

Just to add to this, the Thrashers fans were pretty good. A lot of them came up to us, and even one of the ushers told me he never saw this many visiting fans.
We hung out at jocks and jills before and after the game and even after the game at the bar we started the Lets go Buffalo chant and the Thraser fans came right back with theirs. It was all in fun and both sides had fun. A lot different then when we go to Raliegh.
