Anyway, in an anachronistic way I find myself unable to hate the royals. What do you guys think? Time to dump 'em? Should they name a new King once QE2 finally gives it up?

Purely logically, there's nothing to be said - they're a leftover from a (thankfully) bygone era - "royal blood" means nothing to me. But... I admit it, they're interesting in a strange kind of way.

Definitely rico - I guess my thinking is, will it continue in the same way once the Queen's off to her throne in the sky? I can see big news in picking Charles or whichever kid's older (William? I forget)... But after that, will they be any more significant than, say, Paris Hilton?

I have no problem with the royals.

I like 'em, to tell the truth.

Of course, they're not my nominal head of government.

So I can understand if their "subjects" would want to shit-can the whole concept of the monarchy.

But the world would be a little dimmer without the Windsors in Britain.
