Hindsight is 20-20 yes I know.
However, if you could just push the "easy" button so American soldiers, Iraqi citizens, etc. would NOT have died in such a hopeless attempt at whatever, would you do it?
Forget whether you initially thought it was a good idea or NOT.
This is about reversing the course of history.
Saddam would still be in power with NO WMDs.
I would press that "Do Over" button in a second.

Yeah I would push the button if not for anything but to delay the inevitable. There would have been a larger coalition and then... we'd still be where we are today but with les involvement.

sure I would do a do over but the inevitable? since the reason we went into Iraq was A lie I hardly see the inevitable part. If anything we played into Iran's hand and got rid of Saddam for them... great move USA. I feel like if anything at times we are being played like a fiddle I mean lets get real does any one honestly think that the Iraqi's are going to stand up? LOL yea with all that training let's see 3 years worth the Iraqi police are still full of death squads and sectarian hate but No all of a sudden because of our surge suddenly every things going to be ok...
and then theres the total war crowd and the blame it on the left crowd spare me already GWB is the commander in chief he's in his own words the decider hes nothing but a neocon fool and everyone on here knows it.
but wait lets blame our problems on I know Clinton a guy who has not been pres since what 7 years now? LMAO
hey if we just had total war we would WIN. No if you had total war you would have every Muslim nation in the middle east ready to kill us Including our friends and lets get a clue here Saudi Arabia is not our friends and allies. all they want is our cash they would kill you as sure as night turns into day because In the end you are still a Zionist and a infidel. SO let's call a spade a spade what we really have going on here is a religious war with the values of Islam conflicting with and lets face it the Values of Christians.
call it the middle ages part 2 but this is no longer a war on terror its become a war of religion shia vs sunni sunni vs shia and both VS christian....
now you may not think this is what we face but Iran thinks they are going to bring the 12 Iman or whatever he's called out they basically want a showdown not any showdown but the Showdown.
Bushy he's sure He's going to win no matter what but here is where bushy made a huge huge mistake.
You can not form a democracy based on christain values in a Muslim nation with Islamic values. Its not going to happen so the sooner bushy gets this farce of a democracy out of his mind the better. The best The best we can hope for is that maybe somehow we can get a Kingdom like Jordan out of Iraq but thats a far stretch at this point. This is not about terror its about religion. And if you think its bloody now? It can and will get much bloodier. Total war? That can't and will not solve this The thing you do not get is the more you kill the more "terrorists" and enemies you make. The fact is even our "friends" in the middle east are not our friends thats all about one thing cash they have oil and we have cash thats the only friendship involved nothing else. Please tell me The Saudi king is so concerned about America... LOL sure he is Your bank account maybe He would be Glad to see us dead as long as he had a new customer lined up. And no this is not about end times and crazy Christians and crazy Muslims It may have started out about terror and whatever bull bush sold US but it's evolved. Yea its about terror go ahead and buy it.. but tell me who is the terrorist and who is your friend? please tell me Saudi Arabia is our friend because there is a old saying if thats a friend.. who needs enemies. The Saudi King by his own admission sends money to the Sunni Insurgents in Iraq the same Insurgents who kill our Soldiers. yea great friendship that is Fantastic..... lol I know how about we aim a cruise missile right thru the Saudi Palace and kill the royal family off? Hell If they want a war we might as well give them a war correct you know Total War and take the gloves off all that jazz?
hey Christians are good at war just read history... They can fight In the name of Allah their moon god And we can drop Nukes in the Name of Jesus our GOd. Sorry for the rant but do you see what a cluster**** this whole deal is? thanks GW you sure protected America all right you may have just dragged us into a war we can not win....... fantastic.
It may have started out a war on terror but its become a war on religion... prove me wrong.... and those wars well NOone really wins those wars they just fight and fight and fight till blood runs like a river and then as more die more passions become enraged and hey then you'll get the take the gloves off crowd to join in alright. For everyones sakes you best hope the gloves stay on because when the gloves really come off You have yet to see Ugly but when this becomes The Christian Value vs the Islam Value war watch out.You really have no idea what your wishing for. But then you'll say so what do we surrender? No of course not fact is we may be past the point of surrender and what I mean by that is I fear this thing in Iraq may just go very south very BADly. and more troops won't be the answer but more troops we will send . What I am saying is this is rapidly becoming a war of different faiths and value systems and those wars hardly have a clear winner..... I mean can we really expect the iRAQI TO SHARE OUR VALUES OUR FAITH OUR BELIEF OUR DEMOCRACY?. HELL Saudi Arabia SURE DOES NOT. And the Saud's if they had a nuke would probably have launched it at Washington already just as long as they could make sure it looked like the shia and Iran did it hey there are golden but if you doubt for one second they would You would be wrong welcome to the MIddle east after all we wanted to be hear.... and for what because let's be honest we came seeking treasure and we found it in oil and now like a crack addict we cant give that up.....and so we have The makings of war only little do we know but war drums are not just beating in washington...If we think that we are sadly mistaken all accross the middle east there are drums of war beating shai VS sunni hey they have a nuke we need a nuke too. The drums are beating you may not think so but In countries you would never think they are.. those zionist's they want your land they want your oil they want your cash......those Infidels those immoral pigs......... in fact Allah commands you kill them kill them and you'll become a hero kill them and you avoid hell..... So tell me it's not becoming a religious war? It already IS...
and that can only get real ugly real fast thanks GW just what we did not need but yet here we are can we really go back NOw???????????? you tell me... Do we not think the same way mo? those muslims how can they treat woman that way... hey they cut hands off of shoplifters heyyyy Thats not right What they hang sexual perverts? We must set up a democracy and we must do it right now!!! my values their values... WAr on terror? Lets call it like it is shall we... let's stop the whispering and the what if's and call a spade a spade this has become a war of religions prove me wrong but that is what I see happening there now... whatever it started as it has become this and It can't be good nope those wars never are. So for those of you who want total war hang on you may just get your wish.
BUt wait we are going to withdraw soon you say? somehow I doubt that if were going to leave that window is rapidly closing soon this is going to cross that magic line in the sand when someone says hey thats it... a trigger.. we have that in the making let's just say Israel attacks Iran bravo... and In most ways I would agree but it's tha and after that part that's not so pretty because really after that... all bet's are off. We are rapidly getting to that were never getting out of there stage thanks bushy just what we needed.
SO was bushy really after terrorists in Iraq or something much different? you tell me... what if Bushy is as off his rocker as the Iranian president is could that be possible?
ahh hell mark you say NOOOOOO bushy would never start a war over Religion and values would he?
gee would HE? keep in mind bushy is as neocon as they come. Is this about Terror? or Islamo fascism? does bushy really think Islam is a religion of peace? it's just those islamo fascists you see... damn them It's all there fault...I think bushy is scared of Islam period but hey I could be wrong but somehow I don't think so HAs anyone heard of islamo fascism before all this? in fact before Iraq it was not islamo fascist but terrorist... see how that's evolved now watch this the next neocon comes along and says hey it's not islamo fascists its Islam this is a war about Values.
don't think that's possible eh? prove me wrong. where do our VAlues come from but our religion and for the supposed no GOd folks you have values You just do not understand where you really got those values. Where do you think the VAlues from our Constitution came from but what? that can't be they came from the christian bible? they sure did read your history books again.
AND so a war on terror is transforming itself to a war of religions right in front of our very eyes..
sorry for the long rant

Could have, would have, should have ...
It would be nice to go back and evacuate the Gulf Coast before Katrina hit, too.
But do-overs exist only on film & tv.
It would be better to acknowledge mistakes and learn from them.
That way, when we invade Canada, we might have one or two soldiers hit with hockey pucks and thrown poutine, and that would be about the extent of the casualites.

because Katrina really compares to the war in iraq...
we had a choice that the hurricane would hit us?

No, because fantasizing about how you would change what has happened is a waste of time.
If you want to prevent the Iraq war from happening, why not be a true humanitarian and save the lives on the Gulf Coast?
Why not travel back in time and save the lives lost on 9/11?
What -- you can't? Then this is a big waste of time.
You'd be better off to ponder the lessons of what has actually happened, rather than build castles in the sky of what-might-have-been.
