I thought this would be cool
Well, ever since Campbell scored vs WAS, I think he's been awful
Biron was not good tonight even if it was the right decision to play him, he ALWAYS, ALWAYS lets in atleast 1 weak goal even if he has 50 saves.
Embarassing losing to TOR's farm team tonight, it wasn't a loss, it was a raping, we did nothing through two periods, 13SOG, neutral zone was terrible, and the fans that sold their tickets - EF you, I walked out hearing Hey hey hey good bye. Douchebags

Where were you, Danny Briere? Too often, you disappear for certain games. Chris Drury will deserve a large-money contract more than you at the end of the season. He shows up every night, scores and does all the little things. Drury is an ace.
Briere's great, too, but he isn't Drury.

Not only that, Briere gives the puck away 2-3 times a game on the PP! ,what the EF!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your boy Drury was our best player by far tonight, I dont have one good other thing to say about another Sabre, other than Miller, good job on the bench

Also, could the defense possibly have been worse tonight?? They didn't hang with the Toronto guys, plus there were more giveaways than I could possibly count. In my mind, Campbell, Numminen and Lydman all sucked, and so did the others.
Jaro Spacek, when you shoot the puck on the PP, get it on net! That's why you're here!

I'm not getting why the forwards bring the puck down so low and force a horrendous shot from the corner or make a blind pass to the middle.
Two or more Sabres should not gravitate to the puck at the same time - find open ice! Skate to it!
As defense I get why we move the puck backwards when we are trying to set up in our own zone but the repeated passing in our own zone only gets the other team to prepare for the breakout better...all that work just to make a horrific pass that gets intercepted is getting old. What happened to that one quick crisp pass that got us flying into the offensive zone?
The passing was horrid, no one was gunning to the front of the net.

Couldn't agree more.

In f'in deed.
Also...
I am starting to really HATE seeing the refs letting the obstruction back into the game and I saw a lot of clutching and grabbing. This was on both sides!

Maybe after the all-star break the refs will get a gentle reminder from the NHL about the appropriate way to call games.
Throwing away the whistle after calling everything that greatly benefits just one side was wrong, pure and simple.

A...freakin..men....not that we played a good game....but The Leafs should have been penalized for all...and I mean....all the clutching and grabbing they did....not trying to say it would have made a difference....but christ that's all "the NEW NHL" is supposed to be about....isn't that what they preached in the offseason?

Does anyone else think that Spacek is awful on the power play? I mean, he's got a great shot, but he just doesn't know how to use it. #1 he can't hit the net. #2 poor shot selection. He always shoots the puck when there's a defenseman directly in front of him and the shot gets blocked easily. I don't know, I think I'd rather have Numminen out there.
Also, why oh why does Hecht still get PP time? I know about 99% of you love him, but I just don't get it. He really does nothing on the PP. Even strength and PK are different stories, but I really think that he could be easily replaced.

Toronto wanted this game more then our hometown boys did,and true to that statement they took that game away from Buffalo. Then they spent the entire postgame talking about how great the Sabres are.Nothing worse than failing to compete for this bunch as your told your going to get owned and then you allow it to happen anyways? Now thats disturbing!

This game was obnoxious for sure. I couldn't even bother to watch the last few minutes, first time all year I've walked out of the living room.
In defense of the D, Teppo played a much better game. You can tell he's getting old though.

i really thought Lydman was poor tonight. Also when it comes down to it i think they should keep Drury over Briere.

I'm not sure that it matters whos in there, but whoever is on the point on the PP is just not providing anything
You gotta remember, when Teppo gets the puck, everyone knows hes not going to shoot, and even if he rarely does, its one of the weakest shots in the league

This is true, but with our best player (miller), that game would've been at worst going to OT, and we wouldn't be as pissed off this morning

HEY NOW, you start ripping my hero we're gonna have issues. :D
There's no need for a booming shot from the point - it just has to get through. Seeing-eye shots get past goalies just as often, and they're easier for Gaustad and Dru to deflect.
If you want to talk brutality at the Buffalo point, look at Kotalik. Cover-your-eyes bad.

Lydman should be benched when Tallinder is injured.
Sundin played you like a fiddle on that first goal, Toni.

yeah that was a real bad one, you could see Sundin anticipating it, Lydman has to know better with a veteran like that around.

I still hate Teppos "offense" ability. Its like he likes having the most SOG without a goal, member that? Kotalik, well, if he used his friggen wrist shot more he'd be better off, he winds up and everyone knows its coming. That wrist shot was sweet vs TOR in TOR, where is it now! And Ales is a liability on PP point

Eh. I only thought the second goal was weak by Biron. If Campbell ties up his man on the first goal, that shot never gets off. The third one doesn't happen if Gaustad hits Steen (I think) along the boards instead of going for a drive-by. Steen then worked it along the boards and got the puck right to the side and whoever it was had the whole net to shoot at. Biron came across and almost had it. Call me biased, but that was a tough save to make. The fourth goal was just a nice shot. Jeff O'Neill, as old as he is, can still rip it. He picked his spot and put it there. Martin Brodeur wasn't stopping that one, let alone Martin Biron.

The third goal should've been covered by Biron, it wasn't even a shot it was like a push to the net, and Biron kicked it right to whoever and the missed the shot. Bottom line is if Miller plays we get atleast 1 maybe 2 pts

It goes both ways. Sure Miller might make that save on the third goal, but he doesn't make the save on Steen that Biron made in the third. Why? Because Miller has a bad habit right now of dropping to his knees way too early. If Marty had dropped to his knees any earlier, like Miller undoubtedly would have, that puck goes in. Miller didn't get in trouble vs Chicago because all their shots were weak ones from about 20 or more feet away.

3.1GAA vs 2.65GAA doesn't go both ways, sorry
