{insert sukie joke}

From male killer whales that ride the dorsal fin of another male to female bonobos that rub their genitals together, the animal kingdom tolerates all kinds of lifestyles.

A first-ever museum display, "Against Nature?," which opened last month at the University of Oslo's Natural History Museum in Norway, presents 51 species of animals exhibiting homosexuality.

"Homosexuality has been observed in more than 1,500 species, and the phenomenon has been well described for 500 of them," said Petter Bockman, project coordinator of the exhibition.

Stuff like this only furthers the notion that homosexuality has a biological componet.

According to cognitive ethology, animals are incapable of "choosing" sexual orientation b/c animals are incapable of abstract thought. So the winner of the nature vs nurture argument is clear-cut in the animal kingdom. It's nature. Go figure.

And if animals w/o concept of self or concept of mind demonstrate a tendency to be gay, then the only explanation is that there's biological forces at play.

To a certain degree, some animals can think abstractly.

I know that various types of apes, dolphins, even certain farm animals have some capacity for abstract thought.

There's actually a lot of debate about it.

There's no debate for me though. I think animals are stupid.

What's next, the animal kingdom sitting around holding hands and having peaceful protests?

Dude, I saw this parrott they had trained, it can count, it knows colors.

They put like 4 red blocks, 5 green letters, 3 red numbers, 7 yellow balls, and then 6 green pieces of wool all on the same tray. It can tell how many of each type there are, even when you keep changing type. Take a green wool away, and it knows there's 5 green wool. oh, and of course it can speak it all too you.

But here was the most impressive thing, it could mimic people's voices eerily close to how they really sound. Like, if those cell phone calls were faked on 9/11, they had government parrots do the calls.
