It's all about salary. They can't afford to keep another guy up right now. Also, Paetsch can't go back to Rochester without clearing waivers first. Sekera can.

Because his parents are there for the first time to watch him play a pro hockey game.

Paetsch has played fine, they need to try him on the PP, he has a WICKED shot. Also as you can tell he can hold his own fight wise, whether the guy is out of his league or not, he aint scared of shit.

Paestch is holding his own very well. I know he got schooled by Ovechkin, but he's not the only one. He'll be our #7 defenseman when Hank and Teppo are 100%, which is a lot better than our situation last year.

Paetsch had games last year, so by default he's top of the depth chart for the young guys. Honestly though, i don't really trust him. I'm hoping Darcy will rent a vet at the deadline.

He hasn't been that bad, but has looked bad at times and great at times...I do like Sekera's game!!

He is playing very well and has the experience as of right now, I was definantly impressed with Sekeras play, he will be our fill in guy I am sure or unless Nate starts playing very poorly

Sekera hasn't even played 5 games. Why are we already crowning him? Nate is acutally playing well enough we can have him out on the ice for longer times and gives the other d-man breaks.

Exactly what's the rush.

Yes, I would leave Paesch in before playing Sekera.

I'd be in favor of playing both guys if we had the luxary of doing so. It bodes well for our defensive depth to get both guys ice time should a slue of freak injuries happen to our defense again. I think we should give Teppo a few games off during the season to keep him fresh and healthy for the playoffs. I think he got hurt because he got worn down last season, he played probably 75 games or something like that in the regular season. I trust him back there for the playoffs, and I think I'll be able to trust Paestch by then too.
