MANCHESTER, N.H., Dec. 10 -- The political phenomenon known as Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) descended Sunday on the state with the nation's first presidential primary, drawing enthusiastic crowds and trailed by a huge media horde as he continued to stoke interest in a possible bid for the White House in 2008.

It was standing-room-only at a book signing Sunday morning in the seacoast town of Portsmouth, where the 750 available tickets were snapped up within hours of being made available to the public early last week. Here in Manchester, 1,500 people paid $25 apiece to hear him speak at a celebration of the New Hampshire Democratic Party's historic victories in last month's midterm elections.

It's time to bring REAL leadership into the picture in 2008!

I'm excited as all be that he may run and get the nomination over Hillary. This is truly the person that I have been looking for that can finally bring balance to the force. ;)

I still think it's way too early for Obama to enter the presidential race.

My advice would be: stay in the Senate, bide your time, build your profile up some more and THEN make a run for the WH.

Your reading comprehension issues are becoming annoying. I do not like the Republican Party either. Just that at the moment the dems are the greater threat. But at the rate Georgie is going (think Iran) that's subject to change.

No one is taking away my guns.

You might be right however you strike when the iron is hot.
So if he's going to go for it there's no time like the present.

Is Barack Obama his real name???? Sounds arabic . He is dreaming in that he could never get elected as President. 1- he is a lawyer,2- he went to Harvard. That combination alone is lethal. 3- He wants to build another Great Society with our tax dollars. He is no bargain for this country.

To answer the last piece of crap post....

1. Yes. Full name: Barack Hussein Obama.

2. He's a lawyer. So :censor:ing what? Mind telling me how many lawyers or those with law degrees we have in Congress? My guess....quite a few.

3. He went to Harvard. Again,so :censor:ing what? PLEASE do not tell me you have "Yale hatin' on Harvard" disease.

4. On building "another Great Society with our tax dollars"....please tell us where you got this marvelous insight. From what I've seen and heard,he hasn't made any such assertions.

I have two words for you and the post: "You idiot." -Dr. Gregory House,"House"

Your point has not been proven. Except in your mind, maybe.

Tell me exactly where in this thread have I said I want him as President right now. Oh,wait,I'll tell you. NOWHERE. I did say it was way too early for him to be boosting his profile. He hasn't been on the national scene for long.

First off, pal,I'm not a lawyer. You don't know my profession, and unless I tell you my line of work that's how it will stay.

Second,I don't play with Barbie dolls.(Personally,I don't care if a guy does that-just that I don't.)

And since I'm not in the mood to go escalate this into a war of words and "your mother" retorts,I'm stopping it right here. Don't make me unleash my inner House. It ain't fun.

The problem with being a lawyer is that they are dedicated to the perpetuation of their own kind. They are trained to use the law to thwart the will of the majority. Congress is full of shysters and that is why they won't curb the power of the judiciary. In Japan they actually have a hot line for citizens to turn in illegal aliens. Lawyers are few and thus Japan has a government that gives the people what they really want. The will of the people and the diet cannot be overturned by the whims of a lawyer politician in a black robe

Well the current officeholder isn't a lawyer, and yet using the law to thwart the majority as you say is more commonplace than ever. I think you are being way too general here.

True , Bush is not a lawyer but only lawyers would work to thwart enforcement of immigration laws . That is the bush justice department. Only lawyers would send 2 border patrolmen to prison for deporting a dope smuggler entering the country.
