Allegedly, 'Bama people are in Morgantown talking with West Virginia HC Rich Rodriguez! Other than him, Bobby Petrino (HC - Louisville) and Steve Kragthorpe (HC - Tulsa) are being mentioned.
I'm hearing a lot of stuff about Petrino going somewhere, even if it's not Bama. Looks more and more like he's leaving Louisville for whatever reasons.
Kragthorpe and Gary Patterson (HC - TCU) are early names at Arizona State.
With Dantonio gone at Cincinnati, that creates another job. Toledo's HC Tom Amstutz may be the top early candidate.
And Schiano is still the #1 name at Miami.

Coach, Dolphin fans are saying Alabama offered the job to Nick Saban? Sounds crazy.

I've got people close to the sitatuion telling me to replace Larry Coker, Miami has offered a 12-year, $62 million contract to Jim Hofher. He's mulling it over right now, but is expected to be introduced at a press conference Wednesday at 1 p.m.

I haven't heard that. I have heard USF's Jim Leavitt mentioned. Maybe the Saban thing is true, but if it is, those Fins fans know something the rest of the country doesn't.

The same goes for Rich Rodriguez but that doesn't keep people from throwing his name out there. I guess that space in the papers etc has to be filled somehow.

It might not be a bad idea for Cinci to stick to Narduzzi. They've got a good thing going, and he did a very good job with the Cinci defense. He's been involved in recruiting, and would stand for continuity.

Schiano has officially told Miami thanks but no thanks. Happened last night.

Realistically, how long do you think he'll coach there?
Will he be anothet JoPa/Bowden, or will he be out of there within the next 2-3 seasons?

Some people say Schiano is holding out for the Penn State job.
Brian Kelly, who led Central Michigan to a MAC Championship this season, is the new coach at Cincinnati. Anybody familiar with him?

Personally I think that as long as the University plays along and continues to give him the upgrades and capital improvements that he is looking for that he will be around for a long, long time. Next thing I'm looking for is a stadium enlargement in phases. He has the Governor and the Senate president firmly in his corner and going to bat for him as mentioned in today's papers. He just loves being home and living through his vision that he saw when he arrived 6 years ago. Back then he had a lot of skeptics. They're much harder to find right now. I think he is looking to follow the same upward path as programs such as Va Tech, Wisconsin and even Miami. Programs that weren't even on the radar 25-30 years ago before someone came along and changed the entire culture. I see him as that type of figure here.
For instance I know that Jim Kelly played at Miami but I can't recall seeing him play once in college or name anyone that he played with. But then Schnellenberger came along and changed it all. Same with Beamer at V-Tech and Alvarez up in Madision. Honestly I could see Schiano eventually becoming the AD if he decides 15 or 20 years from now that he no longer wants to coach. He has that type of influence and charisma. But he just turned 40 earlier this year so no time soon in spite of the current AD being 65. Right now Schiano's only real detractors here are a few assorted media members who resent him and a small group of academic snob types who seem to feel as if he's morphing their precious school into some sort of dumbed-down burgeoning football factory. This in spite of the fact that not one of his players has flunked out on his watch. Something that was epidemic before he arrived. And not to mention that their is still no general studies or such major that athletes can take.
