You can watch the entire interview. but first, fast forward it to 5:00. There you'll hear Chomsky talking about how people thinks he works for the Mossad. Then listen to what he says about the 9/11 conspiracy theorists...

Not to bomb on shiva, but I couldnt stop thinking of him when I heard it. I laughed so hard.

I'm well aware of Chomsky's views on 9/11.

If we in the 9/11 community are correct and Chomsky is wrong, a lot of his street cred with the left will fly out the window.

He can't afford that.

Yeah, most people would be pretty shocked to learn what his real work is about.

you should start a thread about the distinction b/t synthetic and analytic statements.

eww, I can't believe I suggested Quine. He's important if you're into that kind of thing, but I've left that shit long behind. It was draining my soul.

I discovered that Searle is pretty right wing. Lately I've more into pragmatism, and especially the 102 year old professor at Temple, Joe Margolis.

Anything in paticular you have a problem with? A theme or passage you can share with the group?

Chomsky was hot stuff back when only academics, politicians and journalists could talk politics in public.

these days, the internet has passed him by.

I prefer Gore Vidal myself.

Next time you see him, tell him I said big up on his ontology of flux.i'm sure i will be too drunk to pronounce "ontology" or "flux". i'll give it a shot, though.

He came to UB last year and the record straight. There are far too many philosophical conservatives in that department, and it was great hearing the words, "American pragmatism was inspired by Hegel," come out his mouth.
