Over the course of many adult beverages last night, one of my friends brought up an idea... in regards to Biron and the helmet last night. That he was wearing the white helmet because he was going to be traded over the course of the weekend.

If you think about it there really would be no other reason for him to go back to the white helmet unless...

A) He hated his paint job
B) He left it at home
C) Maybe he's a superstitious and felt the painted helmet had been bad luck.
D) He knew he'd be getting on a plane and playing in another city by monday.
E) He got into a fist-fight with Sabretooth on the Elmwood Strip and the helmet was damaged in the course of the altercation.

I think C and D are most likely... but then again if there is any accuracy to the guy's public persona he very well may have forgoten the helmet at home.

He was undefeated with it, and still is.

Jim and Rick addressed that issue last night. The painted helmet was smaller-thus compromising his view and not being comfortable,

He ran into a bunch of white supremacists on the way to the game, they made their point.

He noticed the white helmet showed off his steely blue eyes better.

I did not see the interview but I thought maybe he thought he would play better with the old mask.

Totally off base

it actually matches the throwback colors better than the new colors.

I know it's likely just a coincidence, but he has played waaaay better with the plain white one. Here's hoping he keeps that one.

If his helmet was uncomfortable then why the hell did he pick it and why was he still using it. Why not just of had the white one painted

His painted one is pretty ugly. I would not be opposed to the white one, no one else is rockin it. He could also throw some cuts on it whenever he takes a puck to the mask.

I'm thinking he should draw his own pictures on it..maybe this would be a good idea...:bipolar:

The white one is incredibly ugly. The painted mask owns.

thats the thing.

it's not a coincidence.

it gives him better vision... or rather the other one inhibits his vision.

I am no longer a fan of Marty. My wife, like a lot of the Western New York Area, has taken to this team. She started watching games. We were watching one game and they showed Marty without his helmet. Let's just say she liked what she saw. Trade him now!!! Then again, if it helps my cause, maybe they better keep him.
