Darcy was at the Amerks game tonight to scout the two who both got back into the Amerks lineup today. My friend who watched the game, and goes to them all said Sekera was AWEFUL, and Funk was really good. Then in postgame Paul Hamilton on WGR: asked Lindy if they were bringing up another d-man, Lindy said yes, PH said is it Sekera, Lindy said no, laughed and walked away so he didnt have to comment. Then just now Hamilton on
WGR said Funk is in fact on his way up and Card going back down. Cant fault Card, he was an 8th round pick just 2 years ago and just turned 20, Funk was a 2nd round pick a couple years ago and is 20, but is REALLY GOOD. You guys are gonna love him, very physical and good offensively.

That's it, if Funk ends up being a player I'm going to have to get that Jersey. End of story.

Card wasn't getting a lot of minutes in any case, so why not send him to Rochester where he can play.

Bring him on, I would like to see Lindy start giving these rookies a little more ice time in the beginning of the game. If he keeps putting players like Card out there for 2 minutes and then another 4 at the end of the 3rd they are not going to have their feet under them and could lead to a big goal in a close game. We definantly need a tough defenseman in the lineup

FUNK DAT.
It was obvious Card was in over his head, so let's try the next guy now that he's feeling better. We need these Tally/Lewd replacements to pick up at least 10 a night or Campbell will be dead by xmas.

I remember going to the Sabres Rookie Training Camp at the Pepsi Center and watching Funk play was great. He was hitting people all over the place and he looked really really solid. He seemed like he was on a different level then the other players there.

I'm all for the Funk. He has very good size and the write up says he has very nice speed; should fit in well.
I've been dying to see Sekera play for awhile now and a little dissappointed he couldn't play well enough to get called up. Hopefully he can work on his game a little more and put himself in position to be first in line.

What we need to do is trade for another proven defenseman. I don't care if it means moving Biron, we can't keep draining the likes of Campbell, Numminen, Spacek and Kalinin every night.

I've watched Funk here with Portland Winterhawks as a kid - he's a lot like Lindy as a player ...
