I know this is off topic but on a slow Saturday watching the Daytona Supercross on Speedvision, here are two things I found following a link on the Bucs official website boards.
They're very disturbing, but don't seem to be the work of wackos and cranks. And trust me, I'm not advocating a position or trying to start a fight here.
But I would be interested to see what some of my favorite Americans (and I mean that sincerely) think about what some other Americans are saying.

Well Shiva, I'm not sure if I'm one of your favorite Americans but I will certainly respond to this absurd, preposterous lunacy.
These are relatively long links, but I'll give you my view on the salient points.
The first link deals mostly with American 77, Dulles to LA. There is a ill founded challenge to the "official story," claiming that a 757 travelling at "gut wrenching" speed could cause such little damage. Well sir, the morons who wrote tae story neglected to mention the aircraft impacted the ground prior to the building. "Short hopped" it to use a baseball phrase. The aircraft was largely destroyed when it impacted the building. The second major assertion is that it took "fighter pilot" skill to maneuver the aircraft in such a way. Ridiculous. Any knucklehead with five hours of M'soft flight simulator could hit a building. There is a good deal of skill and experience required to operate a modern jetliner, but hitting a building is not hard. There are other inaccuracies in the link, such as the 757 lands at 250 mph. If anyone tried to land a 757 at 250, the tires would explode and there isn't a runway on earth that could contain it. This link is the work of morons.
The second link you provided contains a great number of ridiculous postulates and senseless assertions. I'll highlight a few. They claim it is diffifult to turn a transponder off, it isn't-it has an off position. Not too hard to figure out.
The assertion that pilots are ex military and for that reason would "go along" is idiotic. Pilots work for passengers when they fly. They are a uniquely individualistic group and none would ever go along with this. This "robotic" nonesense is just that. Any airplane autopilot can be overcome with manual flying. The ATC tapes had nothing on them because the hijackers didn't transmit. They shed hugh doubts on the cockpit voice recorder of the United flight because they quote investigators saying they could clearly hear a pilot talking, but were unable to determine which one. That happens all the time. The cvr's are not high quality audio, unless a boom mike or other mike is used and since the pilot speaking was trying to do so surreptitioulsy, he wasn't using his regular boom mike. Transmissions from pilots to air traffic controllers are always very clear on recordings. Cockpit conversations are not. He had keyed the mike, but was not using a boom mike. The claim that details were being tightly held by the airlines is a non sequitor. Airlines routinely lock out passenger lists and crew lists if there is an incident, until apropriate people are notified. I can tell you from my own knowlege that the airplane that hit the Pentagon was dutifully sending it's data link info to the ariline system up to and including impact.
This is just a few minor challenges to these ridiculous "stories."
The hijackers got entrance to the cockpits, killed or otherwise removed the pilots, then flew the airplanes into the buildings.
Period.
This wild conspiracy stuff really kills me, but geesh, at least it could be better done. The credibility of these is below zero.

Yeah, there's always kooks out there!
Fortunately I know someone personally who happened to actually see the plane hit the building. So unless this person was brainwashed or is otherwise in on the plot, I'd say the story that's out there is true. :)
These people talk as if the building was made of Balsa wood. It's concrete!

Thanks 3rd. I was thinkin' the "hop" principle too.
Actually, to the contrary on that piece, I can't see a truck bomb doing that much damage. The burn marks were where such an explosion probably wouldn't get to in my inexperienced opinion.
I actually went there and drove by it frequently. It was too wide spread I thought.
Also, my wife, who works "for the government", just told me that they have camera footage now that they were unaware of earlier that actually shows the plane crashing into the Pentagon. Apparently they've been on the tube as well recently.
Lastly, and this is VERY morbid, but I have an FBI agent bud who actually was assigned to the site. What he found was gross! He said on one day, while sifting through the wreckage, he found a scalp, bone fragments, and other unidentifiable human body parts. That was based on a conversation regarding just one shift. He did that for weeks. Where would all the people have come from if it had been a truck bomb?

Shiva:
I can tell you from my personal experience and from the security camera footage of the Pentagon, that a plane did in fact crash into the building. As 3rd base said, it short-hopped into the wall. Not fighter pilot skill. Terrorist skill.

Shiva,
In your original post you stated you wanted to see what some of your "favorite Americans" would say to these claims. I'm interested in your response, since you've gotten some responses from us. Are you a hit and run poster, or did you have a comment? Since this thread has been relegated to the burial ground of America at war, I'm sure few will see it. So-are you willing to admit these links were a waste of time, and the work of amateurs, or do you have something else to say?
