And it goes from bad to worse...
Apparently,Pat had yelled over and over again who he was-to no avail.
No one identified their targets before firing. One of them had just undergone laser eye surgery.
And there's a lot more...

The theory goes that Tillman was murdered because he was high profile and was going to openly criticize the American Administration when he got home.
He would have had the celebrity to have a tremendous amount of crediability.

He was murdered with the desire to exploit his death politically.
So I would say Bush/Cheney/Karl Rove are the culprits.

Cheney is one missed heart beat away from death.
Bush is leaving the country apparantly with the rest of his family to South America.
It looks like Karl Rove will be left holding the bag.
Perhaps they should hang him side by side with Sadam.

I think the most interesting part of the story is that Tillman knew before he went over that if he was killed, his death would be exploited. To the point that he went to a lawyer and added into his will that he DID NOT want a military funeral. No flags, no 21 gun salute. Whatever circumstances added to his death (which were numerous and all very curious,) there was a huge governmental coverup following it, and the poor bastard was exploited harder than he ever could have imagined. George Bush will burn in hell for going on the big screen in Sun Devil stadium 7 months before his election and using Tillman's death to pump the war movement knowing full well the circumstances surrounding his death.
Tillman was awarded a silver star for valor. A recognition no other casualty of friendly fire has ever recieved. Disgusting.

I'd like to see you say that if it was your kid that got sent home without the back of his head. For more than a month the government lied to them about it being friendly fire. They've been told on separate occasions that the troops who killed him were anywhere from 33 to 250 yards away. They still haven't gotten an explanation as to why the platoon split in two, something that had never happened before that. A parent is supposed to just "let that go?" **** that. And **** anybody for saying that.

After Pat’s Birthday
Posted on Oct 19, 2006
Pat and Kevin Tillman
Courtesy of the Tillman Family
By Kevin Tillman
Editor’s note: Kevin Tillman joined the Army with his brother Pat in 2002, and they served together in Iraq and Afghanistan. Pat was killed in Afghanistan on April 22, 2004. Kevin, who was discharged in 2005, has written a powerful, must-read document.
It is Pat’s birthday on November 6, and elections are the day after. It gets me thinking about a conversation I had with Pat before we joined the military. He spoke about the risks with signing the papers. How once we committed, we were at the mercy of the American leadership and the American people. How we could be thrown in a direction not of our volition. How fighting as a soldier would leave us without a voice… until we got out.
Much has happened since we handed over our voice:
Somehow we were sent to invade a nation because it was a direct threat to the American people, or to the world, or harbored terrorists, or was involved in the September 11 attacks, or received weapons-grade uranium from Niger, or had mobile weapons labs, or WMD, or had a need to be liberated, or we needed to establish a democracy, or stop an insurgency, or stop a civil war we created that can’t be called a civil war even though it is. Something like that.
Somehow our elected leaders were subverting international law and humanity by setting up secret prisons around the world, secretly kidnapping people, secretly holding them indefinitely, secretly not charging them with anything, secretly torturing them. Somehow that overt policy of torture became the fault of a few “bad apples” in the military.
Somehow back at home, support for the soldiers meant having a five-year-old kindergartener scribble a picture with crayons and send it overseas, or slapping stickers on cars, or lobbying Congress for an extra pad in a helmet. It’s interesting that a soldier on his third or fourth tour should care about a drawing from a five-year-old; or a faded sticker on a car as his friends die around him; or an extra pad in a helmet, as if it will protect him when an IED throws his vehicle 50 feet into the air as his body comes apart and his skin melts to the seat.
Somehow the more soldiers that die, the more legitimate the illegal invasion becomes.
Somehow American leadership, whose only credit is lying to its people and illegally invading a nation, has been allowed to steal the courage, virtue and honor of its soldiers on the ground.
Somehow those afraid to fight an illegal invasion decades ago are allowed to send soldiers to die for an illegal invasion they started.
Somehow faking character, virtue and strength is tolerated.
Somehow profiting from tragedy and horror is tolerated. Somehow the death of tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of people is tolerated.
Somehow subversion of the Bill of Rights and The Constitution is tolerated.
Somehow suspension of Habeas Corpus is supposed to keep this country safe.
Somehow torture is tolerated.
Somehow lying is tolerated.
Somehow reason is being discarded for faith, dogma, and nonsense.
Somehow American leadership managed to create a more dangerous world.
Somehow a narrative is more important than reality.
Somehow America has become a country that projects everything that it is not and condemns everything that it is.
Somehow the most reasonable, trusted and respected country in the world has become one of the most irrational, belligerent, feared, and distrusted countries in the world.
Somehow being politically informed, diligent, and skeptical has been replaced by apathy through active ignorance.
Somehow the same incompetent, narcissistic, virtueless, vacuous, malicious criminals are still in charge of this country.
Somehow this is tolerated.
Somehow nobody is accountable for this.
In a democracy, the policy of the leaders is the policy of the people. So don’t be shocked when our grandkids bury much of this generation as traitors to the nation, to the world and to humanity. Most likely, they will come to know that “somehow” was nurtured by fear, insecurity and indifference, leaving the country vulnerable to unchecked, unchallenged parasites.
Luckily this country is still a democracy. People still have a voice. People still can take action. It can start after Pat’s birthday.

I've got nothing but respect for Pat Tillman.
He is a true hero.
The cowards that used him and possibly killed him are the ones pissing on his grave.
I agree, If this is true it is very sad. There comes a time for the middle class, and average citizens to stand up against our government. and say enough is enough. To limit the power of the powerful, and limit their greed. I may be getting off topic, probably because of the beer.

It was friendly fire...shit happens
What about the obvious cover-up? They knew it was "friendly fire" and lied to his family and the public. Where the investigation leads I don't know, but they exploited his death, plain and simple.
Why don't you read what his brother, who signed up with him and could have played pro baseball, Wrote:
http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/200601019_after_pats_birthday/
Kevin Tillman joined the Army with his brother Pat in 2002, and they served together in Iraq and Afghanistan. Pat was killed in Afghanistan on April 22, 2004. Kevin, was discharged in 2005
'After Pat's Birthday' ...
By Kevin Tillman
It is Pat’s birthday on November 6, and elections are the day after. It gets me thinking about a conversation I had with Pat before we joined the military. He spoke about the risks with signing the papers. How once we committed, we were at the mercy of the American leadership and the American people. How we could be thrown in a direction not of our volition. How fighting as a soldier would leave us without a voice… until we get out.
Brother and Friend of Pat Tillman,
Kevin Tillman

How come it seems to be one way when Canadian soldiers are involved?
We have lost many Canadian soldiers due to American friendly fire, but I can't think of one American killed by Canadian friendly fire.
Just a little trigger happy are you?Training, our soldiers get the best training there is. Taking nothing from the american soldiers ,but I wonder about their training. It seems to be shoot 1st ask questions later. The last canadian killed by americans ,was by a A-10 wart hog. Our soldeirs were burning trash and got bombed for it. America it seems is getting a little lazy or a little scared. This idea of finding out about some one in a house and instead of sending in soldiers to check it out,you just drop a bomb on it and usally end up wiping out a wedding party or something. You got boots on the ground start using them. The canadians will make great progress with some locals and them the villiage gets whacked by the airforce and all the work we did gets thrown to the wind.People say terrorists are cowards because they hide behind their bombers, well they can say the same about you.

When a troop gets killed in battle the military does not send home a letter
saying
Dear .......,
Your Son was killed in action by his buddys because thay made a mistake.
O-well better luck next time.
Have a nice day,
General ripper
Or:
Dear......,
Your Son was killed because he was a dumb ass and walked into
a marked mindfield.
O-well better luck next time......
After a loss the military trys to softed the family loss by telling them their
Son died in a honorable way doing his job and helping the men in his unit.
