Yeah, the Republicans became awful comfortable in the government against which they railed.
A common failure among reformers in all times and all places.
It'll be a good thing for the GOP to be on the outs, to reconnect with their core beliefs ... and to let the thoroughly inexperienced and unorganized Democrats hang themselves.

This is BS. How are the Dems inexperienced and unorganized? You just made that up. There is no basis for why you would say that. Complete BS statement, and I'm sure that you would like to see the Dems fail. Even though it would hurt the country. The Democrats are inexperienced and unorganized in running this country. It's been more than a decade since they last controlled Congress and ran the committees and wrote the legislation, etc.
Plain and simple, the Democrats will have to remember how to run federal government.
Forced to make a choice, I'd rather see the Democrats succeed and live in a prosperous country than for the Democrats to fail and the GOP voted in to run a demolished nation. But thanks for trying to put words in my mouth.

They haven't had control over the last decade you're right, but there are plenty of democratic congress men and women who have been in congress for a while and have plenty experience. What I'm saying is for Rob to come out and say what he did is complete BS. Does a democratic congressman or woman who has been around for 12 years not have experience because his party has not been in control? No that's complete BS. The democrats in congress are just experienced as the republicans and that's why what he said is BS and the two of you are living in fantasy land.

OK, Proteus, lesson-time.
Power in Congress is in the hands of the committees. The committees and their chairmen decide which issues go forward, which laws get passed ... by the time a measure goes before the full House for approval, eight times out of 10 it's already a done deal because all the grunt-work was done in committee.
Running a committee requires constant wheeling and dealing, counting noses, making deals, hearing pitches ... something the Democrats have not done in 12 years. They simply have not been part of the DC power structure since 1994 and have had next to no say in pushing the agenda.
The Democrats are experienced at only one thing: being the opposition party.
They have not run a Congress and set the agenda for committees or negotiate with the president about a budget or other bills.
That's inexperience. I'm sorry that hurts you, but it is the truth.

It is all part of the process that make America great. In those 12 years many democrats have retired or left office. It is time for some fresh faces. I heard onone of the talk shows that the senior ranking Dems. are much more liberal than the democrats they are leading. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Really, lesson time? Thanks dick but I know how the government works. You said the dems are unorganized and inexperienced. Saying they are unorganized is a complete assumption by you unless you work with these politicians on a day to day basis and know them personally. So that is BS. As far as them being inexperienced, well that is also BS. Every politician knows how the congress works. Do you think these people sit around in congress for 10 or 15 years without learning anything. Yes the dems are about to start running the committees in congress. The people who will lead those committees are EXPERIENCED democrats that have been in congress for an extended period of time. They are not freaking morons. Does Charles Rangel who will be the head of the ways and means committee and also a member of congress since 1971 not have experience? That is why what you said is BS. Thank you and I will wait for your concession post.

Now they are inexperience at running committees, before they were just inexperienced. Well I suppose anyone who hasn't had control over congress for an extended period of time would be inexperienced at running the committees they control, but the only way to get that experience is by doing it and I don't think it's going to take a long time for them to figure it out or it will be anything that will halt legislation, like you make it out to be. That's a silly post. Even if rob's statement was BS, your statement is even more inane since rob said something while you have said nothing at all.
Dems in Congress have been on the outside looking in for 12 years, and have driven no agenda. Worse, their tenured members due for chairmanship positions are the most hardcore leftists in the party, holdovers elected by default from little enclaves of lunacy. This is sort of a "hijacking by attrition" of the Democrat party that has evolved since the 1994 bloodletting.
The Democrat elevation yesterday was a result of their strategy to present centrist and conservative candidates in areas where that plays - which is most of America - and for the rest of them to STFU. The entirety of the Democratic message was "we aren't Republicans" and "Republicans suck". They sure didn't campaign to the socialist agenda of their leadership. When the Looney Left leadership oversteps their perceived mandate, the majority of Americans who are horrified by that socialist agenda will roundly reject them. It's all cyclical, really.

In the Seante we have pretty much all of the face power Clinton, Obama, Biden, Kennedy, Kerry (i know i know), and others. They know what they are doing and will do a great job.

No meat, what Pete says is true. From a purely strategic standpoint, the Repubs tactic of "out-lefting" the left failed utterly.
From the stupid NCLB act to the expensive Prescription Drug fiasco to the inability to repair (or better, dismantle) Social Security (even Patrick Moynihan wanted to do that).... The Repubs tried to work with the left and pass some of their statist crap and all it got them was more crap.
The Repubs, starting in 94, should have just run their agenda, pure and simple. Let the left stonewall, eventually it would have worked (see welfare reform in 96).
But no. Apparently, nehemiah, they were inexperienced. They ****ed up. And now it is the left's turn to try not to **** it up - Rob's point. It's not an argument at all. Many on the right are saying "good luck!" and of course hoping for the left to flop. Do you blame them?

Number of people on the Range the don't take Chimp seriously. Everyone to a person except the two pom pom wavers.
