Yea but I figured I'd throw him up here anyway
He might be smart to leave now w/ Wells waiting in the wings

Ohio State's Pittman, entering NFL draft
AKRON, Ohio (AP) - Ohio State running back Antonio Pittman announced Monday he will forego his senior season to enter the NFL draft in April.
While wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. hadn't made his intentions official, his father, Ted Ginn Sr., told The Plain Dealer that Ohio State's game-breaking kick returner will also skip his final season.
"It was the best thing for him," Ted Ginn Sr. told newspaper. "Emotionally, it's not the best thing for him, but financially it was."
The two join wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez, who declared for the draft last Thursday, as Ohio State players to leave school early. The three were part of the Buckeyes team that lost to Florida in the BCS national championship last Monday.

yeah that sure is, I'm not longer anti pwillis
him in teh first and pittman in teh second and yuou've gone a long way towards replacing fletch and willis
I'm not sure why Marv would want to draft Pittman this year so early knowing that next year there's a crop of RBs coming out that are vastly superior to him.

aside from mcfadden, I'll take pittman over slayton, rice, etc.
its a moot point pittman won't be around when the bills pick

pittman is better than james davis from clemson

Pittman- RB JR 13 242 1233 14 5.10 94.85
Davis- RB SO 13 203 1187 17 5.85 91.31
Pittman only had 46 more yards on on 39 more carries. Davis has a better avg and more TD's and there yards per game are almost a wash. Pittman played on a better team. Davis is the focal point of Clemsons offense. Davis is a 4.4 guy who is a HR threat and I would take him over Pittman

I would rank next years RB's as follows
1.McFadden
2.Slaton
3.Rice
4.Johnson
5.Davis

if I looked just at stats I'd agree though pittman is also a 4.4 a confirmed 4.4 guy who is a homerun threat.
but eh, to each their own

I think he is that good.
look the kid is fast, can cut and move like no one's business see him deke reggie nelson in the open field then get back to top speed to win a foot race to the endzone.
runs hard inside
and was very productive at a big time program, if he didn't split carries with wells he would have had 1600 yards and close to 20 touchdowns.
and he did it behind a line that wasn't really that good.

I couldn't agree more.
He is slippery and rarely takes a direct hit. I see a lot of Thurman Thomas in him.
If he is there in the second, he will be our pick.

he wont' be, that's the shame of it, from what I've read he went into the combine at 207, looked like he could easily carry 215-220
he had the best 3 cone drill of any running back. the kid is a player

some sites have him as the second back
and I think they are right, he has the same size as lynch but is faster and has proven his worth against better defenses. I didn't like him initially because he didn't have good size but he came in at 207 and ran a 4.42, from thevideo he runs to daylight, and has power in short yardage. his 6.84 3 cone lets you know that he's cat quick. also he never takes big hits, I've never seen him get lit up once.
at worst he's the 3rd best back, and that won't be enough for him to get out of the first
green bay, tenn, giants, and baltimore are all going to need backs
peterson, lynch, and pittman.

Another Ohio St player who could have separated himself from the pack is RB Antonio Pittman who chose only to weigh in and stand on the rest of his combine numbers. While tit will not effect his stock much many were hoping to see Antonio attempt to make a statement and back his belief that he is a round 1 prospect. Word has it Pittman did impress during his interviews and was seen in lengthy conversations with representatives from the Green Bay Packers, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Him being there in the 2nd I think is going to be tied to where Peterson and Lynch go. If the Browns dont take Peterson I dont think Pittman makes it by them in the 2nd.

he may not make it out of the first. I could see him going to the eagles at 26.

Maybe, I think they just resigned C Buck though
I think Atlanta may have some intrest and maybe Detroit depending on how K.Jones is progressing
By the way I thought I heard today on Sirius that Pittman grew up a Bills fan and his fav player was T.Thomas. Any of you OSU guys ever hear this?

I had heard it once before but chalked it up to utter B.S. as his favorite team was team x interviewing him and his favorite player was player y of team x.

Then we clearly need to trade down to 22-25 in the first and take Pittman....pick up another first day pick this year and next year in the process....
Think about it..... a boatlaod of picks this year and next year...our team will be a bunch of young(cheap) vets by 2008-2009 seasons........thats how you win.....

i don't think he's worth throwing draft picks at however. i think a second is high enough for him.

I'm saying trade down from 12 to the early/mid 20's....
get what the value chart dictates and get more first day picks.....

i just don't think he's a value in the first round. a talent like his next year will be found in the third.

Might be true....but we don't have a RB this year.
I just think the attitude, work ethic, and ability ios perfect for the Bills.....
He had a really great year this past season and was the only guy to show up in the NC game (not that they used him enough) and he was overshadowed all year by Ginn and Smith..... yet never complained.

</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>PITTMAN A ROUND TWO POSSIBILITY?: If the Bills go linebacker in round one then the odds increase greatly that they go RB in round two. Ohio State's Antonio Pittman should be an option for them when they're on the clock at 43. Bills Asst. GM Tom Modrak commented on him Wednesday.
“We like him. He’s a strong runner. He’s a break tackle runner. He ran 4.4 at the combine which was a little surprising. He’s a 205 or 210 pound guy. He’s not that 235 (pound) break tackle runner, but he has that ability. He catches the ball well. He gives you a little bit of everything. If you put the check marks in the boxes he gets them all pretty good.”
I like Pittman as a second round option. He has the versatility needed for this offense and very good speed to turn the corner. He's also a sure-handed ball carrier which coaches love obviously.
