"Cutting your taxes worked," Bush said. "Unfortunately, the Democrats are still determined to raise your taxes, and if they gain control of the Congress, they can do so without lifting a finger."

I bet the liberals were the first ones in line at the bank to cash their tax cut checks.

ugh
it is so disheartening how empty and shallow our arguments have become
this is so easily defeated yet it doesnt matter. you wont listen because of what you want to believe
and when the pendulum swings and the dems take control theyll do the same thing
its so sad that we would rather warp our perspectives to match our partisan power struggle than to see what is really going on
i wonder if its ever been this bad before. i mean you would expect it to have been because we were less developed and had less experience. by now we should know better. which just makes it all the more disheartening

How is this easily defeated? The republicians give back the tax cuts because they want us Americans to have more of our own money that we rightly worked hard for. I personally prefer it that way. I know that I can invest my money and turn it into more money then by allowing the goverment to do as they see fit and get back less come income tax time.
It is disheartening in the fact that people cannot make smart decisions when it comes to the money they earn. They would rather the goverment "hold" on to it for a year and get it back in one lump some. It is just plain stupid.

someone will be along presently to debate you on the minutiae
but consider this: if a new coach takes a 14-2 team and manages them to 2-14 should they be lauded if they get five wins the next year?

With your debt levels and still massive deficit, the next government will raise taxes. It won't matter who wins.
You don't get eight years of irresponsible spending for free.
You bought Iraq on credit and thebill will come due pretty soon.

"If Democrats have their way, the child tax credit will be cut in half - from $1,000 per child to just $500 per child," Bush said. "And think of what that means for your family. Next time you're having dinner at home, look around the table and multiply the number of children you have by $500. That's how much more you will be sending to Washington in taxes if Democrats take control of the Congress."
